Kazaa lite is dying...Can't get alot of files anymore, and the new files you can't even get, you get a screeching sound on the songs....Go with Ares, don't have these problems.

Before you go flying off the handle like I know you forum dwellers do, let me ASSURE you that DSL has the ability to lay the smack-down on any Cable line - it just depends on the physical location of the DSL line.
The closer you are to a city or a "backbone" of a DSL service provider's line, the better your bandwidth. I anihilate Cable speeds thanks to this modem sitting directly on one of those so-called backbones.
Also, DSL is much cheaper, and we all don't have white-collar jobs or get bandwidth from our mommies and daddies.
To change the subject, Ares is an excellent P2P network that is nearly virus free (although Key-gens come up as Trojans). It does, as claimed, have superior network speed. The problem is that it is small, and does not contain as many files as Kazaa or those other virus-ridden networks that are beginning to rot from the core.
It is a good thing that it is seperate though, it keeps it steril. I reccomend Ares to anyone over any P2P Program.
Remember, download from SHODAN1_PC_Hub on Ares - we have over 5,000 files for free!

The main reason why I think Cable is faster over DSL the simple fact the line is much thicker, I know it sounds to simple don't it, but I think there is some truth in it. For the money DSL is the way to go, it's a better deal. Some People including myself already have cable Tv and my ISP offers a really good offer on my Cable Tv per month if I have Cable internet also, I might pay $50 a month for my internet, but i'm getting digital cable with all the movie channels for about $25 cheaper a month than you would if you just had the Cable tv and no internet. I got a package deal. Now If I go rid of my cable internet and went to lets say Verizon DSL, my regular cable tv bill would go up $25 a month, so in a sense it's cheaper to stay with what I got now, and the internet is about 2 times faster then DSL is currently.

For all you out there that have been looking for the best p2p net. I have to tell you THERE IS NOT ONE. that is why that are so many. that have something that is good about than. Now I have been p2ping for a long long time and i have to say" you guy are stuck in your ways." To get the best out of p2ping you have to have many p2p programs. they all have something good. Kazaa is good with getting pics. Warez/Ares is good atgetting large file at a very fast speed( good with movies/music/programs ). WinMX is good at getting rare files. and BT is good atgetting odd files. and so on.

Now To help the new p2pers if you see a p2p program with lite in it is not better then the first one because it runs on the same network. The only thing diff is that it has new things on it.

Also I have to tell you guys out that that yes I do have a place in my heart for Kazaa but it is slow going down. With the new Kazaa program ( kazaa lite k++ ) it is harder it find file. In that program it has the setting to make it so you do not have to share. Now is i am right is kazaa a file shareing program. So if you want to save Kazaa keep ripping the movies/mp3/books/software you buy or download and putting them in your share folder.

Now I to solve the Ares thing. Ares is a new p2p it runs on it own network and downloads very fast. I has the best file i have found and does not have the virse thing happening. Also for the people that like are there is a new p2p that run off it own network and the ares network. It is call Warez ( www.warez.com ). I am sorry to say it is alot faster than any p2p network ( i clock 150kb/s to 180kb/s ).

Also to get the best out of all the p2p programs you have to download all your file yo one folder. What p2p means is peer to peer and if all of that file for all the diff program go to on folder than all of the p2p program will have a ton of file for you to download.

We have to work together to get more.

sorry, but i have to disagree slightly with that statement - its isent htat people have just "added new things" its that mainly they have removed all the spyware and adware rubbish - making it much safer and better for the scene.

i think everyone here (most of the members anyway) know that you need certain programs for certain files
but i think your mislead in your sumation of the best software for the best tasks

Bittorrent = for the files that are hard to get hold of anywhere else, for example tv shows

IRC = for the very latest files at the fastest speeds

Kazaa Lite Resurrection = Odd Mp3 files and pictures, i agree with you there

WinMX = personally i hate the program, its never moved for me, but hey - thats me

Edonkey2000 v1.0 = for Ed2k links and the rare files

Ares = not a bad network so far, hopefully it will get bigger in time, although it is good for what you said - for now

lol, then again we all have our personal opinions dont we ;D

i just thought id mention a few you missed out :D

The P2P site called Warez stay far away from, download it and you will have tons of virus on your computer along with tons and tons of Adware programs and other crap. Warez does whatever it can to screw your computer over.

The best P2P program out is ARES LITE......Better than Winmx, Kazaa Lite, and all the rest.
Yep I just downloaded it and its nice except for all the spyware it installed. It put so much in that adaware and spybot could not find it all, Instead I downloaded a new antispy program from giant to remove the remaining 26 components.

However once the spyware is removed its nice.

Ares lite shouldnt have Adware/Spyware.

Ares has adware/spyware called NAVHelper, which when you install, de-select it from the list, and it wont install, its as simple as that.

Ares is a good little P2P appz.
