The p2p that kazaa uses is used by other downloaders such a emule and shareaza, but i prefer to use WinMX as i was using it long before i started using kazaa and its got a shitload of files. you can get it from www.winmx.com and shareaza (if you wanna stay on the same type of p2p as kazaa) from www.shareaza.com i'm not too sure about emule but if you search around you'll find it (although shareaza searches all the same stuff as emule anyway plus others) there all clean with no spyware and cost nuthin

WinMX -www.winmx.com - Good for popular stuff, ie: Beyonce. Also usually has good return rates for bigger files; long queue lines are the norm for any rare/unusually huge files.
SoulSeek (Slsk) - http://www.slsknet.org/ - different from WinMX; you download from one person and stay with that person; much more personal, good(er...many) chat rooms, good for non-english stuff (especially if you play nice) like Japanese and German. Not the best for large files unless you love long queues or, like I said, make friends high up.
IRC - www.mirx.com - Not exactly a file sharing program, (Internet Chat Relay) but there are many channels you can pick up files from.
BT - (just look up bitorrent, or try http://sourceforge.net/projects/g3torrent , I've heard good things.) - Very nice if you have alot of seeds and time to leave on your computer. Good for getting the best files first; its how the big guns build up their stash of files. ^_~ You just have to look in the right places....
Disclaimer: Don't download illegal stuff.

I've tried many p2p programs and i still say kazaa lite is one of the best. emule is pretty good if you can put up with the slow download speeds and i've heard good things about bit torrent but have yet to try it.

www.k-lite.tk although i think kazaas been havin trouble lately cos it wouldnt work on my new computer and my friends have reported the same thing, so maybe theyve stopped new users from getting on. also i went to their site the other day (k-lite) and when you try and download it it turns out you gotta pay for it. the only way to get it thn would be to try finding it on another p2p (like winmx or emule-which uses the same network as kazaa) or get it off a mate. don't be suprised if it doesnt connect though...

Try Ares, it is the same as kazaa but has fast downloads, you might have to wait a minute for it to connect the the user but when it does you get excellent speed. Unfortunatly, with Ares it suffers from the same fate as kazaa, the network is slowly getting viruses and corrupt files. I suggest using a combo of eMule(which can be fast if you configure it correctly and release your files) and bit torrent. Check other threads for help.
Note: This is the audio section if you read the rules it said no p2p, try the filesharing section.

The best P2P program out is ARES LITE......Better than Winmx, Kazaa Lite, and all the rest.

Ares lite is not better then everything else
for older files = Overnet Lite
For the newest files first = mIRC
for the odd files = G3 Torrent

Haven't used those programs so I dunno. Ares is the best thing I have used so far, it kills Kazaa lite. Ares is excellent for New files, Old files, and rare files. That is all I need.

Ares speeds are very good. As fast as it's gonna get for P2P networks or pretty damn close to it. Sometimes I can download a 2 hour movie in oh 45 minutes or so. I have high speed internet though.

Yep, for getting small popular files very quickly, Ares is great.
Also I find I get no queues or anything of the like either. Through I haven't tried any big files on it, yet.

On most Modem Speed test, I nearly max the test out. If that gives you any idea how fast it is. Standard cable speed I suppose, I'm kicking Verizon's DSL ASS.

Your line speed: Test 1
3709.1 Kbps
454.5 K bytes/sec
------------------------------------------------------- Test 2
File Size: 600.005 KB
Time Elapsed: 1.547 seconds
3.03 Mbps
(387.85 KBps
-------------------------------------------------------
Fast enough to max out Ares download possibilites..Ares only lets you download files certain speeds, depends on the file and the person that is uploading it, depends on there speed.

When I first got Comcast internet service back about a year and a half ago it was only half the speed it is today. Now back then, they had Comcast Pro internet, which is the same as I have today, but it costed like $100 to get the Pro. They did away with the Pro and just up'd everything which today is just called Comcast Cable internet, paying $50 a month.
