The +R format would be a code like Ritek R01 (something like this) :

4X Ritek Inkjet Printable DVD+R {PLUS}

This disc will appeal to those people who like a disc with a plain white surface or who use an inkjet DVD printer.
This 4x white-topped inkjet printable DVD+R is a great value for money product from Ritek.

The 4x Ritek dye is tried and tested and is the heart of what makes this such a high quality disc.

This DVD+R disc is for use in drives that take the "DVD+R/RW" format of discs.

Please ensure that this is the correct disc for your hardware before purchasing.

This disc writes at 4x

The {HA 447} PLEXTOR INTERNAL E-IDE (8x DVD+R) (4x DVD-R) DVD WRITER will in fact write to these discs at 8x.

ADVDINFO: RICOHJPNR01

Approx' Price: £31.96 [$57 - U.S] for 50 spindle

(Notice the Ricoh name in the disc code).

I bought the 50 pack of shrink wrapped Ridatas off of Newegg (they are G04s), but my NEC ND-1300A just turns them into coasters. Is there firmware which will make these work, or should I never buy DVD-Rs? I normally buy DVD+Rs.

Hi bentley3, Welcome to A/D forum,

I have found that although advertised as a dual format burner the only minus media I have been able to burn with my 1300A is the "Advanced AZO Metal Dye" -R media.

I stick with Verbatim +R and Ritek +R. As for firmware, it should be 1.0A

Here is the place to go -

cheers,
