If you're backing up DVD's stick with Ritek OR "Branded" Verbatim - Sony is mioddle of the road and may cause you major headaches :-(

Meritline.com has the best prices -

http://meritline.com/

BTW Welcome to our little Club :P)

OK, my little Newbie, a "Branded" Verbatim means that the disc SAYS "Verbatim" on the disc -

Many companies make discs for other companies - the dye might not be the same for instance or something else be changed -

Ritek for instance - they make over 50% of the worlds DVD Discs - an awful lot of those are very inferior to even Maxell?s or TDK's. Their G04's however are fine for our work.

That?s why we are specific about which ones to buy.

Don?t worry, you?ll learn (BTW, At the top of this page there is a Glossary to help with words you don?t know :P)

Cheers,

Pete

In that case I have branded verbatim dvd+r discs, and they don't load 100% of the time with smd, they work perfect after they finally load, which can take a few times alot of the time. Also I heard alot of people say that sony dvd+r's were no good.

Checked there site and here is what they say.
Newegg.com does not currently ship internationally. Presently we only deliver within the United States and Puerto Rico.
Sorry

I belive those are the silver shiny....I like the matt. finish on top of disk part#
DRD-47-4X-RDSM, OEM
they both are G04 dye...and a great disk...
All I have ever used and never had a bad one .
just depends on finish you like on top, the shiny are always a few pennys less each, then the matt.

I like newegg too. I've built my last two comps through them without a single problem from them. Great prices on RiDATA there.

My killer sig came courtesy of bb "El Jefe" mayo.

How can you tell which Riteks are G04 from the descriptions online (eg at Meritline or Newegg)? As there are so many different Ritek, I'd like to make sure I buy the correct ones.
