yea it says 811 on it now

i thought i read somewhere some1 burned at 8x on 4x media....

ya i do all the time! What speeds are you getting? I mean thats the whole point of the mod getting 8x speeds

i use sonic recordnow and it only says min, mid and max..
i dont see any logs about speed or how long it takes...ive never tried Nero cuz sonic works...dvds seem to take 1 hour tho for 4.2gb

No, I'm still burning at 4x. I'm not sure why. The burner does show LDW811s FW HS0Q. The media is Ritek G04 -R. I used speedhack to modify the HS0Q firmware before upgrading it and added the 6x and 8x speeds for this media. I'm not concerned with the speed difference between 4x and 8x. What's 7 minutes? It's more important that I can burn -R media without pixelations, pauses, blips, and drop-outs! The BLER scans on my previous burns show PI constantly over 250 and blocks of PO over 10.
Now BLER scans are PI Max 16 average of 4 and PO Max 2 average of 0.00. More important, they play PERFECT!

Yes. Zebramod to upgrade the burner from 411 to 811. Speedhack was used to make the burner believe the media I use is 8x certified. Should I not use speedhack with Zmod?

use one or the other i think, i am useing z-mod great rip times and burning 8x on 4x media. you are useing 2 mods and i think that can be your trouble
