u know they put a sticker over the cd...kind of a clear sticker that says if you remove it, you will cause harm to the dvd

I have no idea. But ya know they do re-sell those dvd's. So if there was a sticker what good would it do once it's sold?
And a final thought ... Since you should only backup movies you own, does it matter if it's there?

yea, well i bought the software to replace my badly scratched cds....which was practically all of them. but at a lunch conversation the topic of the "sticker" came up and no one really had a answer. i oppose piracy all the way.

hey i have dvdx copy platinum. I have been burning dvds for about 4 months and just recently started having problems. When the dvd gets done burning it says dvd burn complete. but when I put it in my dvd player it just keeps saying reading reading reading. Funny thing, it will play in the computer but will not play in my dvd player anymore. I just had the dvd-rom drive replaced because it was only reading at 2x instead of 16x. I don't understand why it just all of a sudden stopped working in my dvd player but will still play on the computer??? Can someone help me?

codt66,
Changing your dvd-rom won't matter, but did you change anything else? update your burner's firmware?

sorry but I don't even know what that means. I did just try using a different spindle pack of the same dvd-r's thinking that I may have gotten some bad DVDs and suprisingly it's playing in my DVD player again. So I don't know why I didn't think of that before cause I wasted a whole 25 pack. (almost)
Hey I appreciate your help and the help that I can get from this website.

You can get the unofficial update of platinum which gets rid of the splach screen at the begining and ripper enabled in rf version from www xcopy products.co.uk

So, flip218, it's me again ... hope this is the right thread to discuss DVDXPlatinum full-rip software problems. Version 3.2.1.0.
So I found the log files and they indeed said that the file was too big to fit, just like Marlene's problem.
Now .. my question is .. can I use DVDXPlatinum to write to those 2-sided 9.4 GB DVD-Rs?

nwdryad,
Nope, wrong again. You had the right forum, even the right section ... just the wrong thread.
XCopy questions should be posted in aD's XCopy forum.
