Is there a way to remove the video message that appears on the burned version of my DVD. i.e., the 321 studios logo, ect.

Bigtamw65,

If your asking about the "DVD Backup" warning in the beginning. Yes, 2 ways.
1) Use 321gone in simple mode(Xpress)
2) Get Platinum RF.

To get Platinum RF, e-mail support@321studios.com, give them your current license and password, and ask them to issue you a new ripper free license. Once you've downloaded and installed Platinum RF, get 321rip ... this will turn RF back into a ripper version :)

Flip218,

I have DVDXCopy Platinum and using Xpress also puts that warning at the beginning, unless I am doing something wrong.

How do you get? "get 321rip" Do you recommend doing this? So far, my software is working, except I can't burn directly from the DVD. I have to copy to my HD first. I would like to burn from disk to disk. It seems that would save some time.

I've not used DVD Shrink. Does it take other software to use along with it? Thx!

gbiplavon,

Your using RF and Xpress puts the "dvd backup" warning on your backups?

I think I have the ripper version, and I get the warning message using simple mode. I just wasn't sure how to get "321 rip" if I got Platinum RF.

Another issue, sort of....my friend can burn from disk to disk using DVD X Copy Xpress, but I can't. He says he puts his movie into the DVD read drive and a blank dvd in the burn drive and it asks him "DVD X Copy Express has detected burnable media in your DVD burner, would you like to automatically burn? YES OR NO". I have never gotten that on mine. Mine just copies to my hard drive. Have you heard of that before? Thx!

Are you using XCopy to rip to your HD?

flip218,

Version 3.2.1. You know, I think I found the answer to one of the problems. My second drive is a CD burner. Oops, could that be why it is not reading the dvd movie? When I installed the Sony DRU, I replaced the DVD ROM thinking I needed the CD burner to burn CDs.

flip218,

So then if I ditch the CDBurner and replace it with my DVDROM, I will be able to burn music CDs on my DVD burner?

And if I get a new version of the software, you will tell me how to get the ripper back?

Sorry for questions, I'm just learning...Thx!

Yea, your dvd burner will also burn cd's. And use your dvd-rom to rip, this way you put less wear and tear on your burner.

That link I gave you allows you to get v4.0.3.8, which was the last ripper version.

flip218,

I have another one question. On the Xpress selection, there is a box you can check if you want the entire disk copied/burned. Do you know what happens if it is not checked? Will it only copy/burn the movie itself and not copy the extras? I have been leaving it unchecked because I don't want all the extras, previews, etc.

Yes, I believe leaving it unchecked, does the movie only.

flip218,

I followed your instructions and downloaded the upgrade 4.0 3.8. It copied to the HD, but won't burn. The activate link does not work either. What now? Did I miss something? Thx!

The only version that will browse and burn files on your HD is Platinum RF.

If you had a previous version already activated, you do not need to activate again. If you Platinum wasn't activated it wouldn't start up and let you even rip, it would close.

Using v4.0.3.8(a ripper version), you have to copy and burn. Your saying it won't do that? Have you removed your cd burner? And just to make sure you didn't get a bad download, re-download from here:

Sorry flip218,

I think I spoke too soon. I just now loaded a different blank dvd, and the 'Start'light came on. So it is writing now. Must have been a bad disk.

So, tomorrow I will re-install the dvd player and should be in good shape. Thanks for your help!!

You can try 3 things:
1) Try using a different patin couffin:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/patin-couffin.cfm
2) Try getting Platinum RF
3) Try using DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter

321 sucker, thanks for the suggestion, my patients had run out so i uninstalled every thing and installed shrink and decrypter. i have now burned my bought copy of die another day using shrink. It took a little while longer than what i expected but it was easy following the guide from this site. many thanks to the guide author.

i am a little unsure as to whether decryptor will work as it says it needs a aspi layer and i read that my windows xp pro doesn't have one. Will this be a problem?

I believe so, why? Ya trying to copy a copy? Cause, eventhough people say it can't be done ... it can.
