diffrent people like to do diffrent things, I've kept some originals of games that i like, games i don't like i don't keep the originals to but i don't destroy the backups.
simple.

Hey
i am having big difficulties with the magic slide tool. it took me an entire day to figure out that i have to insert the tool into the tray when its inside the ps2. my dog ate my instructions (no im not joking)
my biggest problem is that when i stick in the tool in it goes in fine but when i slide it to the right and try to pull it out, the cd tray wont come out. please help me! i am trying to play kingdom hearts: final mix. any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

you need to slide it to the right, take the slide card out, and use your fingers to pull the tray out.

I havent got a single game to work yet using this method! i have tried MOh and Ncaa 2005. I am using Verbatim DVD-r disks with DVD Decrypter. Is there somthing else i should do to get the slide card to not get a pink boarder! Please help!!

I am starting with the disk (the swap disk dvd 2.0) then it sais enter disk, so then i open the ps2 using the little opener tool and insert my disk, it then makes a weird loading sound and gives me a pink boarder. i though from reading that possibly it was just EA games that was doing it so i tried ESPN 2k5 and that didnt work either . I am using Verbatim DVD-r wich are purple on the bottom are those ok to use?? And besides the iso is there anyother file/patch that i have to do to get this to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I also went to their website and it said use disk loader V7 or somthing like that so i d/l it and burnt it to a disk and that wont even load correctly following their exact directions!! PLease Help!! Could it have to do with the DVD burner i am using??

You need to slide the pin back to the left once you put the backup in and then press x =)

Hi, does anyone know if the slide card will eventually damage your console, like the tray because you need to pull it out manually which feels a little bit forced?
And a second thing: removing the front of your tray, does that void your warranty cause i thought not (sony does allow you to play back ups of your games not? So is the slide card legal...?)

no, it doesn't void your warranty (you can put it back on). Also, according to Sony, playing backups is illegal.

Hey guys. My magic thing doesnt work either. i just got it today. i dont no whats rong with it, but when i push x the screen around it goes reddish pink, and ive heard that means it cant read my disc. i only copied it by going to Nero express and telling it to copy the entire thing, and its on a Memorex DVD+R
help someone? thanks

darnit. yes it does. i wanted that to be a simple problem. i think i copied my game rong too. i copied it on nero express and DVD setting think and told it to copy the whole thing? ne thing rong with that? k cya. thanks for trying to help me, again

you could try DVD Decrypter. use mode-iso-read to read, then mode-iso-write to burn (1 or 2x).

does anyone know if there is a usb something or other that work as a mod chip out there. Freind told me he heard about one but where not sure if it really real and if it is any good.

there is, but its not very good. You still require a swap disc, so swap magic and a fliptop is better.

I need help with this too. The reason all that's been said in here doesn't help me is because I don't have any problems with the actual mechanics of it, it's the bit at the end with pressing X on the joypad - it doesn't do ANYTHING! What is this "insert disc" screen? Is it the screen that says "Please insert a playstation2 or playstation disc"? With the red/pink flames? If so, pressing X doesn't do anything. I do all the stuff right, put the import disc in and press X and it doesn't respond. This is nothing to do with the Slide Card itself because it doesn't respond even with one of the games I've bought. The only thing that can get you out of that screen is by pressing the "eject" button.
Please can someone help me with this. When am I supposed to put in the Swap Magic disc and what screen is supposed to come up because I get the feeling my version of the PS2 doesn't have that screen. I tried it in the browser too but it can up with the same "Please insert..etc." screen as before.
EDIT: Right, I've found the problem is the Swap Magic discs, they don't work. They do absolutely nothing. The screen you arrive at just by putting in, say, an Xbox game is the screen the Swap Magic discs take me to. I'm in the UK and the version of the DVD Disc I have is 2.0. Any ideas why it's just not working? I went to the homepage and supposedly the discs are supposed to bring "Load Program" and "Video Mode" on the screen but nothing....

On my tutorial I used to have video's that shows how to use it but the links went dead. I have the videos on my PC but don't have the bandwidth to post them.
