Okay, I followed the directions on page 16. Everything worked up until the point of DVD Shrink. When i got to DVD Shrink, I kept getting errors on VOB files. Like VTS_1_0.VOB, VTS_2_0.VOB and so on. So I had to manually run Fix_VTS on all the files. Then when all that was done, DVD Shrink actually worked.
Yes, Fix_VTS was in the right folder and the path setting was correct.
It took 2 days, but I finally got it!
Thanks for all the help!

RipIt4Me 1.6.6 should give no problems. Just try to minimize the amount of programs running in the background.
99% of all problems are between the computer and the chair.

Yo, I browse these forums like crazy, just never made an account till now.... I got a problem/question.
Ive used AnyDVD for a long time along with DVDShrink. Never have I had a problem untill recently....What happen was my DVD-RW Drive puked, it was causing all movies I burned to skip during the last few chapters (pissed me off). Anyway I went and bought a new DVD Drive but its not the same brand I had before. I HAD a sony and all I ended up getting an HP DVD840i (with lightscribe that Ill never use). So I of course had to install the new Nero that came with it so it would be compatable.
So I burn one movie no problem. But I got two other movies that wont burn (Crank and another one). Whats happening is I can get it on DVD Shrink no prob. I can even re-author so I got just the movie. Its doing its thing and it gets to 90% and it locks up everytime. It was never a problem with my SONY drive, so I wonder if its somthing stupid.
Thanks

When you use shrink on problem dvd's try quality settings set to compensate with errors, just check both boxs in quality settings, this will usually save you from locking up and wasting blanks.Burn at 8x or lower also helps, the HP burners are a great burner have 3 myself.

Has anyone successfully copied this movie using a combination of DVDFab and AnyDVD? I prefer DVDFab over the other methods because it is significantly faster (rips and compresses at same time). If so, which versions were used and what was the method?
PackMan777, any thoughts? You seem to be the residing authority on this subject...
Thanks!

I got Ripit4me to work but it created 1 - 99 vts files. I used fixVTS on the entire DVD. I then used PGCedit to "remove uncalled PGC's" and clicked yes to all recomended options. I also deleted several PGC commands that it told me to fix. ( Just the command line not the whole PGC). PGCEDIT was slow to do this so be patient and wait for the prompts to the next steps. That got the dvd down to 1-8 (VTS,IFO,VOB) files. At that point it was a normal dvd in that I could open it with VOB_blanker, dvd_shrink , menu_shrink and other tools. The copy ran just like the original except it was mine. :) .. Just make sure you have all the latest version of Ripit4me , FixVTS ,PGCEDIT, and PGCEDIT's PSL2 plugin.

This same exact thing happens to me also. Does anybody know what causes this/what we are doing wrong?

Posting the RipIt4Me DebugLog.txt file would help locate the problem.

I got the same message using Ripit4me and DVD Decrypter when I tried to do the movie, plus menus and extras. Just ask for the main movie and it will work fine. That is all I did and it works just fine.

Im glad you said that, I was hesitant about buying the HP one, and Id like to think it coinsidence that Im having problems now...most likely just the movies. Eitherway I plan to check my firmware and also try the solution Ive read here and throughout the forums.

AmmaMan85,
FIXVTS.exe should be installed in the RI4ME folder and that it is defined in the Paths to program setup in Ripit4me preferences.
Don't know how to put printscreens on here just yet as I'm new to the site.

I had a little trouble with Saw3 and I got it using RI4M, DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink. I did not copy extras, just the main movie. I was able to get it thanks to the forums on Afterdawn. Thank you all.

No you need to uncheck those titles in Clone - they are the bad sectors placed in the dvd to try & stop you from ripping it.
Unchecking them still gives you a full back up w/ menu- I did it again just removing those titles w/ 6.1.1.2.
RipIt4Me is really not that bad. RipIt4Me is also removing those sectors too in the process. Both RipIt4Me and Clone (if checked) remove these then create a new dvd structure sans these bad sectors.

They are in the same folder.
Does anyone know how to use CloneDVD w/o using a DVD player and a different DVD burner drive? I just have the drive.

First how do you edit your messages its kinda anoying having to start a new message just to add on to my last message?
When I start up RipIt it says
"RipIt4Me Version 1.6.6.0
FixVTS version: 1.6.0.3 -- All OK"
in the white box. So it obviously recognizes Fixit
