Finally got the full AnyDVD update today, grabbed saw3 as soon as I could, success, burned flawlessly, and finally played on all my players, the only thing differnt I noticed was it took quite a while to load up on all the players, and the wait was worth it, thank God I didnt have to get into all those crazy configurations with all those other programs which I'm sure work great, but I love that clone and AnyDVD 1 click method and don't have to rack your brain, and Lionsgate, STICKIT.

That may depend on the version. The release I have is the Unrated Region 1 and it did have to have FixVTS.

RI4M has no weird configurations just install the software and set it up, mostly default if not all. Then it has 1-Click which I suggest using with FixVTS selected to process files after ripping.

You couldn't be worse than me. LOL

But seriously, you had to install AnyDVD and CloneDVD before you used them and if you owned either very long you've had to update them. I've had DVD Decrypter and Shrink on my system forever. So all I needed to do was run the RI4M installer and update it as needed. So that's 3 installs instead of 2. RI4M plus the other apps is only about 1/3 the file size of the slysoft combo. The RI4M defaults get the job done in 1-Click mode (be sure processing with FixVTS is selected). It opens and Shrink and it's a go. You can have Shrink set to work with a supported burner (in burn settings). After the first time through everything should be just about set. The first time with AnyDVD you need to go through settings unless you want the defaults, which I don't. AnyDVD is a little easier, I'll concede that. However, with 1-Click RI4M is also easy. There's a lot of beginners picked up on it and saw it was good for dealing with heavy copy protection like that in Saw 3. ;)

pacman, beleive me I don't disagree with you, I undersand what your saying, I remember having clone and AnyDVD for about 6 months and never used them cause it looked to complicated, just kept on using my old dvdxcopy from 321 studios till all the extra encryptors started to come out.

It was right after madigascar came out when I finally gave clone a shot, it took me quite a while to figure out but finally I did, and never looked back since.

But I will tell you this, I'm just an old retired construction working guesser, myself, friends and co-workers never even played games on a screen, (I'm lying I did play pong once),nor do I have any friends or co-workers that know anything about computers, everything I know about them is self thought, and when your not into high tech like everybody has been for the past 10 years self teaching you dont get much, I have been playing around with computers for about 6 years now, and I have learned more from AD in the past year than I have from the previous years combined.

I'm not a read a learn type of guy, I'm a show me guy, show me once and I got it, there's a guy calls himself alchohol on many threads, he posted pictures on how to use many of these programs, lol I still can't figure out how he does it, the pic's I mean, it's not like you can just paste those pic's, some things you can't paste, I'm sure you can with certain softwares but you see I don't know anything about things like that, but anyway, I would love to be as smart as that guy, I mean he can crack anything, he should be working for the CIA or better, but, if I was to take him or somebody like him on one of my construction sites he would be as stupid as I am with computers, till somebody actually showes him, and I dont mean reading a book with instructions, there is no experiance like OJT,(on the job training) some are great with thier minds and some with thier hands like me.

But in no means am I downing myself, I'm proud I got this far without anybody's help and consider myself lucky, in time sure I'll get better, it's just takes me a lot longer. Have a good one.

You're welcome. Glad to see you went with Nero 7 on the burn. You can control your burn speed for better quality that way. A person can get Shrink to support ImgBurn (for burn speed control) as a supported burner, but that's more instruction for those who don't know how.

FredBun
I know what you're saying. There's a lot of people who don't have computers as part of their work and older people didn't have them in school. I've noticed in a lot of communities there are adult education classes that includes PC courses. They teach basic skills and teach some theory on how things work (or should). From what you say, you may be ahead of a class like that now.

As for posting pictures like alkohol does, you use the tags posted above the Reply - Message box. You use capture software to get the image or use an image file you already have downloaded. You load it to an online host, such as ImageShack. You put the url link in the img tag and put that in the Reply post to the thread. It works like this...

Even with the AnyDVD update Shrink still can't read this disc.
So yes you'll need to rip it to your hard drive 1st.
Use RipIt4Me - here's a guide w/ links to download - guide.

Here's a post from James at Slysoft from CDFreaks:
I still haven't got the original disc. If I have it, I'll look at the problem if I have a minute to spare, as I am currently working full time on AnyDVD HD (which will be really, really awsome!!!! ).

My general advice for such problematic discs: Use elby CloneDVD2 to rip it, use Shrink on the files processed by CloneDVD. If you do this, you can use CloneDVD's nice title selection feature with Shrink's transcoder. You'll get the best from both worlds.

Alright, I'm the new guy but I've been checking out these posts for quite a while. First up, let me say thanks for all the great info from everyone, it's been very helpful. I too was able to make a perfect backup of Saw 3 using the latest Ripit4me and Fix VTS in 1 click mode. Also, I'm one of the ones disappointed in Slysoft. As with others, I tried backing up Saw 3 with AnyDVD 6.1.0.7. It gave me 40 bad sectors and didn't work worth a damn. I've updated to AnyDVD 6.1.1.3. I only put in my original copy of Saw 3 just to see if I got the same errors as I did in the previous version. I didn't get the errors, but it kinda locked up on title 7 in DVDClone2. So I didn't even bother trying to back it up through that.

I'm curious. Many of you recommend DVDFab. Can you tell me what version? Is it the Platinum, Gold, or the free version? Will it remove Puppetlock, Arccos, Flux, and Ripguard? Any input is appreciated.

Even though I'm new to the forum, I'm by no means new to backing up dvds.

Thanks to all.

Thanks Gus. Did you keep title 7 through Clonedvd2? When I updated, mine to found 90 bad sectors (thanks for the screenshots). However, I didn't get the same error as I did on the previous version of AnyDVD, but on title 7 it almost locked. I assumed that to be a issue with AnyDVD.
The AnyDVD and clonedvd2 are my favorite to use, I would really like to go back to them. Right now I'm trying (for the hell of it) DvdFab decrypted (free version). It ripped it fine (full 8.5 gb disc). I loaded it into DVD Shrink and it's handling it fine also. Next I'm going to try loading the full 8.5 gb to clonedvd2.

OK folks, DVDFab Decrypter 3.0.7.0 can rip SAW 3 UNRATED EDITION flawlessly now. I can confirmed and Fengtao has fixed the problem, and you can use DVDFab Decrypter 3.0.7.0 to rip this as your desire "full disc" or "main movie" beautifully.

Here's a very basic DVDFAb guide to rip SAW 3 UNRATED EDITION

Now insert your original SAW 3 UNRATED EDITION into DVD burner or DVD ROM drive.

Now click on START to rip the movie.

Since there are a lot of compressions needed for a "full disc" 65.9% (meaning you'll need to transcode 34.1%), I suggest using Nero Recode's enhancements quality "AA + HQSR + Assign Best Quality to Main Movie" or Recode's AEC Changer by Solomon to Max Smooth.

NOTE: I used DVD-RB Pro + CCE SP 2.70 to encode via 3 PASSES VBR then burned with Nero Burning Rom and the quality is amazing.

Best of luck to all and happy burning!!

Slysoft sent me the beta version today 6.1.1.2 and gave me instruction to remove some tiltle sets. However at the same time the new version 6.1.1.3 was release with all problems fixed. I thought that I had the new version but I was using 6.1.1.2 instead of 6.1.1.3. Very interesting. 6.1.1.3 works perfectly. Thanks for your input I appreciate it.

Will someone confirm that AnyDVD 6113 and Shrink or Recode work like they're supposed to on Saw 3. Push a button and remove a DVD 30 mins later -whole disc or movie only.

No AnyDVD 6.1.1.3 doesnt work right yet, title 7 locks up on clonedvd2,you can uncheck 7 and it will then copy and play ok,but thats not the piont it should fix all the errors so you can use dvdshrink or clonedvd2,I think slysoft is not up to the job, what if all movies becomes this hard to crack, maybe they need to hire new programers, after all they are getting paid to get it right.

Thanks Rick1951

Then AnyDVD has NOT been fixed. AnyDVD6107 did the movie when it came out last Tuesday with CloneDVD2 movie only! Ripit4me does the whole shebang. Very disappointed in AnyDVD's work on this particular problem. Even DVDFab Decrypter has been updated. A couple more of these problems with AnyDVD and I'll stop touting their programs here. Up until Saw3, they have performed almost perfectly except for the fumble that was shutting down pcs some months back. BUT to have gone from 6107 to 6113 since Tuesday and still it's not fixed. You'd think they'd have overnighted a disc by FedEX and had a copy. I'm not buying that crap of not having gotten their copy of it yet, that I'm seeing posted here at AD.

@goodjam

Get all the programs you can man; cause you're never gonna know when you'll need them all. Think back to last Tuesday! LOL

I install AnyDVD 6.1.1.3 yesterday, and it performed FLAWLESSLY in conjunction with it's buddy Clone DVD 2.9.0.3. I also backed up OPEN SEASON, which seems to have the very same issues as SAW 3.

It just goes to show you...it's ALWAYS something!
