I believe I've seen this error when I do something like open a file in wmp or windvd and don't close out the program completely before using shrink. I also think I've seen it when I have a file selected in DVD Decrypter and then try to access that same one in DVD Shrink. So basically make sure that file is not being used in any way by any other programs before trying to use it in shrink.

i rip with DVD Decrypter, then shrink in DVD Shrink, and it was working fine before...when i open task manager there isnt any other processes running that would be accessing that file. it is frustrating me. im gonna try a different movie..im trying to backup the jacket.

Do you close out DVD Decrypter completely before using shrink?

@nanzabar - have you looked on correct drive first, that's a bit extreme!

i'm not retarded you guys...i know my way around a computer. well a little anyway, enough to know what drive is what and what operating system im running..sheesh. so i unistalled and reinstalled and that didnt fix it. but it seems somehow the little box was checked in shrink when you bring up the back up window..something about the c: drive...so i just unchecked it. it works now. i just thought it had always been checked.

@nanzabar...as Creaky stated, no one is calling you anything. You ask for help. We have to start with the basics and work our way up from there. If you've already tried something or are already aware of something, a simple "nice" reply back would be much better. We're all in this together. Just remember that.

@BDJCNP You need to rip those particular movies with DVD Decrypter in the file mode first.
Those movie are protected with the new encryptions that have came out recently, and DVD Shrink just can't handle them.Thats why your gettinig the CRC error.

I've downloaded DVD Decrypter. Would you explain how to use it in baby steps. Give me a nursing problem and I'll run with it, but this is like learning Latin.

Thanks!
