Hello All,

Afterdawn has been great for me in the past. Hope you guys can help me this time around too

I'm trying to back up West Wing. Out of 6 DVD's.. I've been able to do four so far without any problems whatsoever. I'm using the same media so far for the four that were successful.

The error I'm getting is 'Burn Process Failed at 4X'.

Below is the entire log.. Any help will be appreciated !!

Also,
My drive is a SONY DVD RW DW-U12A.
From what I know .. my firmware is current. I updated it a few days ago.
For those of you who are going to tell me its a media quality problem, please also explain why I had no problems burning four other dvd's from the same set of West Wing on the same media so far ?? :D

Thanks !!!

Recorder: <SONY DVD RW DW-U12A> Version: 2.0e
- firmware seems up to date

- sort out the DMA settings via this - http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm

- this is ok, but in future burns try to close more applications down to free up more memory to avoid getting bad burns

- too close to outer edge of discs, as arniebear suggested, set target size in DVD Shrink's preferences

- use better media, such as Verbatim datalifeplus. No more expensive than iffy media

Write error
- your drive doesn't like that media

- splat!, but at least you're burning at a sensible speed.

edit- as for the media - check out the 2nd link in my signature. cheapy/crappy media generates more internet traffic than i don't know what. I do know that it occupies most of my time spent online as you wouldn't believe how much hassle crap media causes
