I've read and read everything I could to be able to burn a copy of a DVD. Let me fill you in. If more information is needed, let me know.
OK, I downloaded DVD Decrypter, and DVD Shrink, and I have Nero Express 6. I began decrypting a dvd, a brand new, out-of-the box movie. It was fine until I got a read error. I tried every option available, and somehow it completed decryting. I checked the drive where it had sent the files, and saw a bunch of VOB files, along with three BUP files that my computer couldn't recognize.
Before anyone repeats advice, let me tell you that the dvd is clean. Absolutely no scratches..I checked it from every angle. Just to be safe, I cleaned it again. My roomate has the same setup, same movie, same type of burner, same software, and was able to burn it perfectly. WHY CAN'T I? WHY WHY WHY? It is driving me monkeybiscuits, lol.
My burner is working fine. When I loaded a bunch of data files onto a DVD, it burned great. Also, I tried another DVD, and was able to make a perfect copy. I understand about copy-protected materials, but if that was the problem here, why would my roomie be able to copy from the same DVD? He did it again, right after mine failed, just to test it out, and again it copied perfectly.
I tried decrypting in both File and ISO modes. Here is the message I get with the ISO mode:-
I/O error!
Device: (1:0:0) ATAPI DVD DD 2X16x4x16 G7P9 (D:) (ATA)

Also, now the problem is that it wont even complete decrypting like it did the first time in ISO mode. It just keeps trying and trying and trying, and never gets past 5% anymore. In File mode, it wont decrypt completely either. It just stays stuck on 79%, and wont decrypt the last VOB file, or the last BUP file.
Please help. I'll even buy a software that gets past copy protection, so I can back up my DVDs. I just want to figure this out, before my eyes completely give out.
