@fasfrank
I thank you for the compliment, have learned a lot from all here, and am still learning and just trying to pass it on. And may I add part of that knowledge comes from you and Scuba Pete, your site rocks and keeps getting better, I really like the dvd tips section. Cheers to you to :~)

If you are getting the subtitles when you play the dvd in your dvd player you can turn them off. You should have a button on your remote for subtitles click on it and then click on turn subtitles off and they should go away.

How does the original movie play in your PC? If it plays correctly in your DVD player but not your computer then the disc is probably OK.

If it plays perfect in the DVD player then there is nothing wrong with the DVD or the programs and hardware you used to make it.
Sometimes the drive in your computer does not like to read burned discs. Especially DVD burners. My solution has been to try different media or change the ROM to one that does read them. I use burners for burning only and use only the DVD ROM to read original and recorded movies with. I occasionaly want to use a program like DVD Infopro to check the burned DVD, but I usually only make a single copy of a movie.
