dvd shrink recurring cyclic redundancy read error

I keep getting the same error message on every dvd I try to back up using dvd shrink 2.3. I have tried 5 different disk to backup all are quite new and clean with no apparent scratches. Is there something I'm missing

well there are a couple of possibilities. They could be dirty or scratched, which you said they weren't so that rules that out. They could be defective from the manufacturer, but if this happens on more than one or two discs then that probably rules that out as well.

Another possibility is copy protection. You said these movies were new and DVD Shrink hasn't been updated in over a year (and won't be ever again), so they probably have some new copy protections on these discs. Try ripping with DVD Decrypter or DVDFab Decrypter first.
