Cannot burn at 8x with DVD Shrink

I use DVD Shrink the newest version with Nero but for some reason I'm not able to burn at a higher speed of 4x. The disc i use at 8x and I have used them many times before and they would work fine. I even tried using other brands and its the same thing. The only thing that I have done differently its that I downloaded the new version of Nero and since then I've been having this problem. I'm tired of it because it takes a longer time to burn. Can anyone help me!

The only thing i can think of is goin back to the prevouis version of Nero b4 u upgraded to the latest version...

In DVDShrink: Backup/Burn Settings/Burn Speed see what burn speeds show up and make sure that 8x is available and checked.

If you have a separate DVD reader and burner make sure your blank DVD is already inserted in the burner before running Shrink.

If that doesn't work then in DVDShrink: Backup/Target Device/Select Backup Target uncheck burn with Nero and let Shrink just write the files to your hard drive. Then start Nero separately and browse to the folder that Shrink created and see if 8x burn is available. That will let you know if the problem is with Shrink or Nero.

Did you download the IN-CD packet for Nero?

What burner model do you have?

Single dvd drive or Dual dvd drives?

Can you post a Nero log from one of your burns?
