I'm pi**ed because creaky closed the only thread that I was interested in, P4 vs AMD. But I guess it doesn't matter, since the main impetus to the thread was banned, and now I fear the momentum is gone without the banned subject.....nice way to boast morale here, and keep members. I like to see/hear what kind of discipline for the afterdawn addict that posts an offensive post directed to another member, which is against forum rules, happens to him/her? Probably nothing, eh?
This place is starting to suck real bad.

'Fraid the kicker is that I'm interested in way more than just one thread. Some of you ppl should step back and see the bigger picture, not just the little bits of it you frequent.
So now I'm the bad guy eh, well I'm contributing a little to the site, except my kind of contribution is thrown in my face when I (like the other mods) are just trying to keep the place clean. Funny how ppl are quick to reach for the offensive post button, but when its used there's a bloody outcry if it doesn't fit with their little take on things. As I say, step back or step off and try to be impartial ie see the bigger picture and not just cry foul when things don't go how you want them to.

i dont blame you for anything... i dont know enough of what goes on in all then other forums i just follow a few and it seems that if your not in a certain clique your not accepted. that why if you look at some of my post you see me being offensive to myself i know i have al;ot of iggnorance towards this stuff all new to me. that why i think it suck cause some of the people i can trust with info are totally pi**ed off and say they arent comeing back here. you have help me once or twice with some things ive pm'd you about i dont have anything against you , like you stated im one of the ones who dont get the big picture i dont see all the other forums to know what goes on. i only have a limited amount of time to check the site ouit in the mornings before work and a bit like now when im at work to get my info, and when i get on here i see one of the main contributors gets the axe.... just my thoughts thats all.so i guess it really dont matter if your a noob or a addict you get the cold sholder either way.... thanks again for everyones help

I must say I don't know all the details I'm not going to bother to ask as I see that noone cares to answer.
I do not wish to get involved as politics is not my thing but take it from one who was party to but a small portion of the taunts fo those on "the other side" I must say what ever the reaction gotten from bro it probably was not sufficient.
I do see a lot of those "one liner afterdawn addicts" growing a gang type mentality here, and I can see benefits to togetherness but let's face it when peolpe come together with nothing but conflict and darker rebelious intentions in mind there can be no good come of it, and I don't think the decay of this forum is at an end.
Infact I can say assuredly we have just taken a step back wards.

brobear is able to carry on as brobear1, and can still contribute to the site and the thread in question. I think the thread should be reopened, but if the people posting in it can't keep it on track then the mods would have every right to shut it down. This is the bitch thread, so keep the bitching here and not in the open forum...if you have dirty laundry to air, air it out here, not in a CPU discussion thread.

Sorry, I really did mean that to be directed to you, even though it seemed that way (yeah, I mentioned you nick). The real problem is the banning of the subject person who kept that wonderful thread going, and not that there weren't others contributing the same, but, in fact, he was the main force in answering questions, and making recommendations to others, and now that is gone thank you so much, you powers to be.
I know what the big picture is, and I don't agree with it, so sorry, mainly because of the secretly way the ban was performed, which does not give alot of credence to the way this board is handled, and consequently, there is going to be dissent. WHAT THE HECK DO YOU EXPECT? Give us a break!!!
And, I ask again, what discipline for the addict that flamed another member, any response, I feared not, we would like to know, I am sure? More dissent!!! I mean, the guy posts one post on that thread of 148 pages, and it is a offense to another member.
Just to be understood, I am not blaming you for closing that thread, in fact, you can keep it closed forever, as far as I am concerned, that thread is a gonner, thanks to some people on this board.
BTW, I have spoke my mind without flaming, or cursing, so if that is grounds to be banned, so be it.....you guys seem to do it for no reason, so go for it.

Hi all,
How about we let the situation rest for now. Let the parties involved dissect the controversy (if they are willing to cordially discuss it). Right now no one on the outside knows the particulars and taking sides is not in the interest of the majority in the open. I'm sure the admin and staff were aware this would cause a stir and for the most part have chose to let us rant. I suspect the situation will only last for so long.
For the record creaky did say he would re-open the thread at a later time once the commotion calms down. Actually I will remind him if it slips his mind as I don't see the need of starting a new thread. Again let the situation calm down, and lets continue to help around the forums where we can.

sytyguy - what is your problem? thats like the 2-3 time you've said we ban for no reason, which is totally false. you think you know the big picture, but in realtiy you dont know a damn thing about this situation, nor were you involved in it, so do yourself a favor and stay out of it. you are not helping things at all but going on like this. we dont owe you any explination, period. Brobear is back as Brobear1 and i'm sure he'll stick around giving the same help he always has. the situation is done, get over it. if we banned for no reason, i'd have banned you in the intel vs amd thread. and as far as the addict that flamed another member, we are dealing with that, but again thats another thing you know nothing about.

Whatever bitching it was that got brobear banned, it didn't happen on the Intel vs AMD thread. For the most part the thread was remarkably on topic considering the number of posts on it. Sometimes things got a little contentious but that just livened things up. A real knowledge sharing can't be fed a diet of tranquilizers and then be expected to reveal anything worth learning.
A forum by deifinition is an online community and real communities go through a whole spectrum of human interactions. To keep things overly sedated and perfectly peaceful results in nothing more than an online old folks home. This doesn't mean that I don't think that people shouldn't be banned, coummunities also have reasonable rules, and some people should be banned.
There was a time when forum leaders and even Senior Members used to help keep the peace on AD. As a result most situations could be turned around to the benefit of all parties by AD's peace makers. What I'm concerned about is that this was the result of bullying factions. A group of individuals who better connected to those on the inside were able to use that to exact a one sided punishment against brobear. That can only be fair if he was the only one in the wrong.

My idea is this to re-open the P4 vs AMD thread ,the bitching posts in the Intel P4 vs AMD should be cleaned up.
{removed (deleted) by a mod} but b-4 that happens all who posted should be given the opportunity to copy and paste there bitching posts from that thread and repost them here in this thread. like give them 48 hours..to copy and paste there posts to this thread.
Once that is done then reopen the Intel P4 vs AMD thread.

I've been around long enough to have seen you, Praetor, Nephilim (before he was a mod) and others let loose on more than one thread, and everone survived and many view those times as the good old days on AD.:)

I don't understand why mods are so upset, that is the general way of things people on the top of what ever hill will alway's be aimed at in an attempt to knock them down.
it's just a shame that people that are of little help, are given so much, in their efforts to undo their assistants efforts.
he wasn't just a member of higher rank although I understand your unwillingness to give a "addict" much respect these day's
he was however a longtime,very helpful member that has spent 3+ years giving to members here. never once did I see him assault another(with such words as baby) for having an opinion (that did not directly effect him) like some lately.

Everyone that posted their personal crap in the chipset thread should have known better, and i do mean EVERYONE, yet not one of you took the time to stop and think about the consequences of your actions.
So, Brobear got the boot...
I dare to argue that dRD didn't do it because he thought it would be fun to do that, and see what'd happen.
Like some of the moderators pointed out, this was not an overnight decision, SO GET OVER IT AND STOP WHINING ALREADY.
Anyone that feels that it was unjust and uncalled for, discuss it here, pm a mod or dRD about the whole thing, but ffs keep it out of that thread.
This place gets messy enough with all the little children rampaging through here from time to time without the seniors and addicts flying at each other like this was some kind of fight to the death.
For god's sake people, this is a tech forum, not real life!
I can imagine that people take sides because they are friends with one another, but that does not mean you should attack the staff, start badmouthing the forum, and act like a bunch of 5 year olds that all need attention.
And last but not least, to any and all that feel they have to leave :
You want to leave, then either take a break, cool off, then come back, or just stop bitching and whining, and leave.

The world won't stop without you, and neither will these forums cease to exist just because you, me, or anyone else decides it isn't worth their time anymore.
In the end, no one person here is truly irreplacable, and there will eventually be someone with an equal or bigger amount of knowledge that can take replace you, me and everyone else here.
So either go and be productive by helping out, go do something to relax in the real world, or pack up and leave.
