Why can't I use DVDShrink to shrink down the sizw of WMP file?

First let me say I'm VERY new to burning backup DVD's. I just burned my first yesterday=). The question is this.....I have downloaded in the past Movies off of Lime Wire, but they are in WMP form. They seem to be around 600+MB and fit onto one CD-R disc. I was wanting to "shrink" it down to put more than one movie on the disc. When I open up the computer files the file labeled "To Burn" is blank? But when I put in a fresh DVD I just backed up it's their?? Is there a software I need to convert it to a form that I can then shrink and burn? Thanks in advance for any help=)

VSO DivXtoDVD converts wmp files into DVD-files, but shrink cant shrink anything that already less than 4.7 gb like u have them.
