I have been using dvd shrink for a year now and never had any problems. But i tried to backup The movie hitch and it didnt work .The error message was "Data error ( cyclic redundancy check ) . Does anyone know what this means or what i can do ?

CRC error: Cyclitical redundancy check.
It could be a scratched/dirty/or a bum disc.
It could also be the newer encryption that DVD Shrink can't handle.



Clean the disc and check for defects.

Try the 21 day free trial of AnyDVD by slysoft.
Anydvd usually pulls off that encryption when DVD Shrink gives me the crc error during the initial analysis.

Try ripping your disk in file mode with the free program DVD Decrypter available at

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd_...

Shrink on its own cannot handle the encryption on Hitch. Here is a guide for using Decrypter and Shrink.

Or you can use the other free program DVD Fab Decrypter available at
