Can anyone help?? I've had DVD Shrink on my computer for the past 18 months and have had no problems with it until 2 weeks ago. It used to encode a movie in 25 to 50 minutes depending on the length of the movie now it takes at least 1.5 hours to encode a normal length movie. The quality has also been effected with the backed up image being jumpy and I can see it pausing whilst it's encoding. I have tried it on several different discs to eliminate the possibility of scratches.

@dezil

The reason this mayb happening could be because of overheating... Like what happens when u use DVD Shrink on a Laptop it uses near to 100% of the CPU....

If u can check ur CPU Temp and make sure its not over heating....

Also have u tried reinstalling DVD Shrink and also make sure everything is set to the default settings...

Keep us posted...

yeah i would try uninstalling and reinstalling the program

and make sure you are doing a disc cleanup and defraging your system on a consistent basis ( i do it once a week) that will def. make a difference in your encoding speed

It could be your dvd drive you are using especially if you use it a lot as they don't last forever, Spyware, Adware etc can also cause your computer to under perform, or maybe you have cheap generic memory thats no longer up to scratch, you could try slowing the speed of it down a notch. Well that's about all the problems i've encountered in the past that have sorted the problem
