Hi,

Im using a Samsung DVD Writer.

I've tried burning a DVD with shrink and everytime the burn starts, it fails at 32%. This happens everytime, you can hear the DVD drive start to make a sound and 30 seconds later, it bums out.

So I downloaded CloneDVD & AnyDVD and it does the exact same thing. At 32%, you hear the writer go a little funny, and then 30 seconds later the burn fails.

What could be happening ?

Any suggestions, appreciated.

Use DVDdecrypter v354 to rip files to HD.
Overcomes the latest Sony DVD protection.
Then use DVDshrink

DVD Shrink does not burn in its own right - it uses a third party program such as Nero or Clone DVD to burn.

Shrink has probelems with some of the newer protections on more recent movies - suggest use DVD Dycrypter to rip and Shink to encode/compress if required.

Nero or Clone DVD to burn.

If you having problems burning and not ripping it may be the media your using.
Has the encoding process ended and the burn phase began when the problem happens? Or does the error happen during encoding? If encoding use the above recommends. If burning post the log from shrink (if using Nero to burn).

Most likely media quality. Download this free handy tool to find exact MID code on your blank discs. It will also list the version of firmware on your DVD-RW drive. Let us know what they are:

A burn log would also help.
