Hi, I bought the Allegro DVD Recorder/VCR Combo (ABR521),
I am recording from my dish network dvr to my allergo dvd recorder. I am not sure if I am supposed to be recording the movies in a certain format. I am recording the movies in DVD+R format at the highest quality. Not sure what other settings I should be looking for. The movies record fine, but then when I go to burn the movie with shrink it cant find the movie in my drive.
You say movies record fine so I assume you can watch them on your pc but you can't burn them. Do you need to shrink them or are you just using it to burn a copy because shrink doesn't work with all file types. You might need to convert files (mose recorders are automatic .AVI or .wmv file extensions) and I don't think shrink works with those. Let us know what file type turns up when you look for it on your computer not using shrink.
Oh, I see, I think my recorder is burning them to AVI or WMV format. Also, I can watch the movies on my dvd players , I havent tried the PC. And is there a program that can burn AVI? Should I use decrypter? And the video are less than 4 GIGS, and I am not shrinking them or needing to shrink them.
Nero copies .udf files, I looked in the help section when i opened the program and gave me a list of things it will do with .udf and it seems it will be an ISO file that Shrink will see since that was your original question. I don't know a whole lot more in this area, don't use these type of files, but know a little about some of the programs and what they let you "see" in the drive.
