What do you mean using XMB normal boot? If you start up the PSP normally with the pandora battery in does it convert it back to you automatically or something? Or are you saying that you can use the pandora battery normally like a normal battery as long as you have a MS in that doesn't have the magic MS files?

So does that mean I can convert a battery and keep it as a pandora battery and use it normally as long as I have another MS without the magic MS files?

Another question I have is, can you use the pandora battery and magic MS more than once? Say I wanted to update lots of PSP slims to 3.60m33, can I use the same battery and MS each time?...or can I sell it on eBay once I'm done with it? Thanks again.

XMB normal boot is just a file you can get which can make the Pandora battery boot as normal if you so choose. If you dont have the file then it will always boot to the Pandora menu.

You can use the Pandora battery and mem stick as much as you want, it doesn't just stop working after you've used it once.

No risk, and you would only stand a chance of getting "errors" if you use the fake eeprom code when reverting your battery back to normal (So back up your eeprom code if you want it back to normal some time in the future. Do this by pressing triangle in the Battery Making App before you convert it)

That's just to do with normal downgraders isn't it? The pandora keeps IDkeys untouched i thought...

Well, you can't back up an IDstorage key, you can back up the NAND...

Are you just thinking of the battery eeprom?

im reposing my question as no one really replied to it....
i see reports in some websites saying the pandoras battery n the magic mem stick can dowgrade and unbrick just about any psp. but it has really got me wondering if future FW can be downgraded using them. cos im planning to get a slim psp and do the downgrade. and was wondering if the slim psp with fw 3.70 or maybe higher can be downgraded with the jigkick n magic mem stick. hope someone can guide me here... thanx in advance.
Yes, future firmwares can be downgraded with the pandora battery-

@wapak-if you are able to access recovery mode, you can reflash your firmware using the 1.50 recovery eboot (search:"1.50 recovery winstaller")-So you are not totally bricked if you have access to the recovery mode...You must have been messing with your themes and got a top_menu plugin that doesnt jive with your firmware..You are only semi-bricked..It helps if you backup your original flash0 folders so if that happens again, you just replace the files in the VSH/RESOURCE folder and you are good to go....Rather than having to go through the hassle of reflashing your firmware when things go wrong.

I'm planning to downgrade my PSP by using this pandora battery hack :) (unbricked PSP)
The reason is that I cannot find Lumines :)
Which also tells you that I have a 3.50 firmware PSP :)

The only thing that is bugging me is that it said "the 1.50 is a minimal subset. So, I cannot use flashers or recovers o.O"

How do I put it to full 1.50 firmware ??? o.O
Cuz after downgrading, I want to put cfw 3.52m33-4 on my PSP :)

It is a minimal 1.50 install but it still can run the custom firmware install, after patching it with that prog that come with cf zip.
Also, there are prog that backup n fixes IDStorage keys.

Got my psp unbricked. =) Also a note, if ppl are switching firmwares, using the dumps, don't do it in the 3.52 M33-3/4 XMB

guys i need some help:

I want to be able to downgrade psp slim:

i downloaded the 3.40 and 3.50 firwares, renamed them 340.PBP and 350.PBP.... I then put them in the folder pandora_slim. i then put padora_slim and pandora_slim% into psp\game. Now when i go to run the program, it says to press "cross" so i press it...then it says:

extracting 3.50's prx's....
cannot read 350.PBP or incorrect...

any ideas? what am i doing wrong here? I am running 3.40 oe-a.

And yes I have already created the MMS and Pandora Batters.

I have the kernel set to 1.50, but i put the pandora_slim folder in psp\game. does it have to be in psp\game150? because i tried that too...but to no avail

do i hav to delete anything from the memory stick after i finished making it a "magic" one? or...............

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks a LOT

Well, yesterday I was searching the net alot and found out that if you put your normal battery in your PSP again and restart it, you'll get the full 1.50 firmware o.O
Is that true ??? O.o
Also, wot is the difference when you put a cfw on this type of PSP (Pandora battery hacked) and a normal downgraded PSP (Lumines hack) ???
I hope there isn't any difference :)
Can my PSP play all the homebrews if I use the pandora hack and install cfw 3.52m33 ??? :)

Using the dumps ??
What does that mean ?? :)
I already have the custom fw 3.52m33 files (M33 creater's eboot.pbp and the 150.psp and 3.52pbp along with the kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher%) with me and all the updates :)
How do I install the updates ???
Do I have to install them 1 by 1 or juz directly put the update 4 on my PSP and run it ?? :)

SORRY GUYS I'M A TOTAL N00B !!! :(

If i don't want to buy a lumines disk, can i just use a homebrew enabled dude's psp to create pandora, then downgrade?
Or does it just work with bricked?

Ok-I see you have posted in a few places with no luck-

I would try getting a different 3.50 update, and then switching your kernel to 1.50 if you haven't already and put the pandora folders into the PSP/GAME150 folder (create it if you dont have one)on your magic memory stick, and try running it again..I am assuming you have your magic memory stick inserted while doing this?

@mdsn- you should actually keep that dump and save it to your computer-just change the name to "nandimage.flash" should you need to restore it to your psp..You would press square on the pandora menu, and it will restore your flash to whichever fw you did the nand back up of. Think of it like system restore on the Windows OS. Its best to have a good 1.50 nand dump...

@acidy-No difference between downgrading with pandora and a game exploit, except with pandora if your battery falls out while writing to flash, it can be saved-

Using dumps? They are referring to a nand dump which pandora gives you the option to backup on the menu...The nand is the psp's internal memory (or flash) if you save it or back it up, it can be restored to your psp if something goes wrong..

As far as your updates, you can go from 3.52M33 directly to update #4..no need to install each update individually in between...

You'll have to put them in "X:\PSP\GAME150" (If cfw)
"X:\PSP\GAME" (If 1.50 fw)

Just like the above post-you would put it into either x:\PSP\GAME if on 1.50 fw, or x:\PSP\GAME150 if on custom firmware with your kernel set to 1.50 in the recovery console-

Just make sure that you dont create a GAME150 within the GAME folder, they should be seperate from each other- also if creating folders on the memory stick-use CAPS.

The 3.50 update you are looking for can be found HERE
