DVD Shrink and temp files?

I'm a newbie to DVD Shrink and after a few successfull burns I was rooting around my computer to see what kind of temp. files it left about. I found under c:\All users\aplication data\dvd shrink\ a few files with cryptic names like "Analysis Results.d9c7823d". Are these just verification checks that can be safely deleted when done? There seems to be one for each movie I've shrunk (each about 180k in size) also does anyone know if any other files get left about that will clog up my HD over time?
I like to tell people I strive to be different.
The truth is, I just don't know how to fit in.

When you put a dvd in and hit open disc it "Analyzes" the disc for a minute or two, it then creates that file. So if you eject the disc and put it back in it doesn't have to "Analyze" the disc again it just opens it right up.

I've got about 200 on mine so I need to clear a few of them off, LOL. A total of 6.7 mbs!
If you backup that dvd again and you cleared out that file,it'll have to do the quick analyzation again,no biggie..
Edit: If you make extra copies and move them to different folders,it'll also add those files in there.
Example: Troy,that first quick analyzation goes to that shrink folder from the original rip.I place them on my spare hard drive for later use. When I make another copy off that troy backup folder-it'll do the quick analyzing again so there are 2 of those small files under dvd shrink.Any more copies after that,no initial analyzing is needed-unless I get rid of those small files.

Is there any way of deleting the file automatically?
Or is going to the temp file the only way?

Not that I am aware of. On my temp files, they are only 4-12 kbs each. Very small,but add up after a couple of months like mine have.

Thanks a lot Saugmon I couldn't find the answer to that anywhere and while they aren't a problem right now I could see them starting to needlessly take up a lot of space down the road. Good to know they can be deleted.

So can we expect those files to be in " c:\All users\aplication data\dvd shrink\" on anybodys computer that is using dvdShrink? I just want to know so that I know where to look on my system should I desire to delete them.

That is questionable! Yes they should be on every user of DVD Shrink,but many pcs will show these as hidden folders.Both of mine first did.It's easy to un-hide them,then you can keep them unhidden if you want.
Using windows xp home:
Start/my computer/main harddrive/doc-settings/all users/application data/if the folder DVD Shrink isn't there: click tools/folder options/view/Hiddenfiles&folders: Tick show hidden files&folders/apply/ok. That DVD Shrink temp folder should show up and you can delete all the ones you want.I try to delete files that are about 2 months old and older.
Majority users probably have their shrink files as their c drive.It depends how you have your pc configured and where you place dvd shrink's main program at. That's the usual main primary drive. I do have extra drives: d,e,f,g,h,i,j,k,and l drives.
I keep my programs on c: drive and all my dvd folders on my H: drive.Moving those 4.36 gig folders around does put a toll on your hard drive,so I keep it away from my OS which is on my main hard drive.
Keep an eye on your:accessories/system tools/defragment. That heavy burden of dvd ripping and moving files around can fragment your hard drive. You may have to defrag regularly,depending on how much you rip.Just a little tip i'd throw in there.

I've gotten into the habit of deleting the temp files right after I'm done ripping the disc.

Thanks! Initially, I couldn't find the application data folder, but unhiding the "files & folders" did the trick.
I must say, the files I deleted took up some serious space, I'm glad I checked into this thread.
I wonder if we can have this thread "stickied". I don't know if this issue has been tackled on before, but it would help out newbies and senior aD members alike.
Just a thought.

The files I raised the question about aren't the temp files that DVD Shrink notifies you about after backing up a DVD (those are large enough that if left undeleted they would very quickly cause an issue with available hard drive space). If you are using winXP these analysis files are in a hidden folder (unless you've enable the view all files and folders option) and if you didn't look you would never know they are there as DVD Shrink doesn't indicate they are being saved. Mind you they are very small and would take a long time to cause space issues (I'm just a little anal about leaving files on my computer that aren't being used)

I know what files you're talking about. Those are the ones I get rid of after I'm finished ripping the disc. I'm ripping Dogtown and Z-Boys right now and I got two of those analysis files: Analysis Results.5fc47cd0 and Analysis Results.36747fc1. Trust me, I'm no newbie when it comes to DVD burning. lol
