HELLO. My 1st post so bare with me. I found the best way for me to burn off cable is to put it on a RW disc then run it through DVDD in file mode(select all) then bring it out with Shrink. Shrink will not do it on it's own if you record to the end of the disc. That's why I put it on hard drive with DVDD. HOPE THIS HELPS

Thanks did you mean run it through DVD Decrypter first? Ive tried that and it always stops short of finishing with a error message.

Topgunner have tried using a different disc...i've found that using another disc such as the maxell DVD+RW disc work & can right thru shrink with no prpoblem at all...so try using Maxell DVD+RW & let us know what happens.

movies27 Ive tried every brand disk known to man nothing works,im wondering if the the speed i record off the cable has anything to do with it,if its a 2 hr movie i set the recorder for 2 hours, but when its run through DVD Shrink when i click "Open Disk" it dont analize the disk like it will with a store bought movie,it go's directly to "Backup" and the movie instead of being 2 hrs long its like 5 min long, but when i put the same RW disk back in my DVD recorder the movie plays fine, its driving me nuts.

Is the rw disc finalized/made compatatable by the phillips recorder?
Is it in VR mode?
Did you use file mode or iso mode in DVD Decrypter? You may want to try the Mode ISO read to hard drive and Mode ISO write/find that mds file and burn to your blank.
Quote: it always stops short of finishing with a error message.
What is that error message? CRC error perhaps?

@topgunner...thats weird it may have something to do with your recorder as saugmon is suggesting...the recorder i use finalizes my disc...then they go right thru shrink...your problem sounds like a finalization problem actually to me.

My options list are under: Setup button on my remote control.
I record whatever I want, edit out all the stupid crap that I missed then when the disc is full or finished:
Click setup button.
It gives me these options in a dropdown menu: Record speed/ languages/timers/system set up/video setup/audio set up/and the most important one is called MEDIA!
When I click on media,it tells you if you want to make compatable/finalize,depending what type of disc is in my drive. I just click finalize, takes a little bit and when it gets done, you may be able to play it on other drives. MAY be able is the key word. Now comes stand alone player/pc drive compatability issues, but that's another story.
Look through the owners manual,or on the remote for something that refers to set up menu. You have to make those discs compatable/finalized.

Hi Movie27 On my recorder i can finalize my DVD-R disks but the DVD-RW disks i can protect the contents from being recorded over but thats not the same as finalize I dont think , but heres what happens, last nite i recorded a movie on a RW disk,i "Protected" the contents, put it in my computer and run it through the DVD decryptor,on the analizing screen it only shows the first few frames of the movie, when i click on backup it run's through the movie in a matter of seconds, and if i put in a DVD-R disk to record on it burns only the first few sec's of the movie, when i go to the folder that contains the movie theres only 38.8 MB of the movie in there instead of the full movie ???
