To run phoenix youll need to have the virtual basic 6 runtimes installed... you may also need microsoft .net framework 1.1 as well.

I have the .Net framework and the VB6 runtimes (you wrote virtual basic, but I think you meant Visual basic correct ?)

Anyway it still doesn't work (the DB gets created in the folder but after that nothing happens) do I need a gui Runtime file or something like that ?

yeah...phoenix 2.4 and 2.5 arn't stand alone software....they are patches for v. 2.3... to use them download and install phoenix 2.3 then move the 2.5 files into the 2.3 folder, and overwrite any files... this is how to do it

Please HELP.

I have a cross-over cable, PSUL v1.1 , Gamecube iso ripping server v1.0.0.29.

On PC command promp:
C:\gamecube\psul -s
Starting sever on 192.168.1.100
Waiting for connection??
Served DNS query from 192.168.1.32...

On gamecube PSO, I get an error message:
(No.101)
Attempt to connect to the server has
failed. It is possible that the server is
undergoing maintenance.
The line will be disconnected.
PRESS START.

I played with IP, DNS, Firewalls on PC for a week but still I can?t solve the problem. I don't know what I missed out. I almost bang my head to the desk. I already sent PM a couple of the Members. I have not received any their reply yet. They are probably busy. Therefore, I post this problem again and hope someone can help me out. Thank a lot .

You guys should really be looking at cubehacker.com. the guys that did the Boot Disc for the Dreamcast have came along way and have came up with a way you can run some games off making some boot DVD for the GC. you will need to use the SDcard util and load PSUL on the SDRAM card. I think everyone at this point though thinks the boot Disc will help with most games the viper chip can't get to run. maybe after a little while it will be out there which way works better. I run with the viper chip. but I help my friend last night with the Ancodina04 release (SP)(I'm not looking at my notes right now) But with either case its still a swap method and I don't think with the protection of the GC as some people have pointed out we will ever not have a no swap protection. the Barcoding on the disc is 99% of the killing point. Unless we were to reflash DVD firmwares on GC drives and make a mod chip that can do the rest of the driving after that point. but thats not going to happen. anyway I've been in on the road quite a bit these past 2 months so I'm checking my mail and responding to lots of messages. Anyway so thoes of you that are thinking about getting a modchip or if you are not sure you can install it or somthing. just wait a little bit the groups are allways cracking this down more any more. And someone will comeup with the right answer. but if you can't wait much longer get the viper CG and load cobra bios 04 on it. some games don't work on it. but thats just how it is. After a few more weeks or next month some time I'm sure that some groups are going to profect this boot disc even more so you guys decide. but this PSUL and streaming Idea is quite old.

Roadkille, it is normal when that error message comes when there is
Quote:
C:\gamecube\psul -s
that means that it is saving "sega server" to memory card(that GC can receive uploads)

remove that -s and it works.

SnipesXxX, you have to test that for your own, but GCSim repack is newest for ISO/GCM streaming(i think) and it works best for me, but in some games, Phoenix is good.

but my own sayings:

i have a idea, in DVD booting, the biggest problem is barcode checking. if we boot original game, it checks the barcode, and then swap it with copy, it checks barcode again. but when put something that blocks that laser cant move to the barcode, it wont check it, and backup could work.
could that work?, i dont have burning DVD-drive so i cant test.

kind of depends on the game software some games check the drive between events so that protection breaks it. But also you have to remember the GC works on 2 protection points the Bar code is the hardest one. but the second point is the GC drive firmware check. So far that can be worked aound using some many things. You also need to trick you lid sensor too. So if you want to try this thing out and see it work. For thoes that know how to stream their games the the GC try d/ling that off cubehacker and loading that file over psul and then use a burned Mini DVD-r with a game it will work. you will need to trick you lid sensor with a rubber band. you just get a black screen because there is no GUI written for that ancoda04.bin and you have to act pretty quick. if you using PSUL ofver the BBA to try this. then you might want someone else to send the file while you sit at your GC and swap the disc. you might find plaing some games might play more fun if you are able to make it work. but like I said if you can't stream then don't try yet I'm talking to the experinced users that can.

I just don't feel like reading 30 pages, but the only programs you need are psul (only once) and phoenix right?

For a start you dont have to read every page, theres a button at the top of the forums that says search...its a strange and mysterious button that may answer the several great questions that have been plaguing mankind for generations... Yeah sure.

Psul already comes in phoenix as does every other ripper and streamer prog.

Download "The Definitive Guide To Gamecube Ripping and Streaming"...PM me.

get a chip instead. plays much better than streaming.

find backups that are already ripped by a friend.

get support at maxconsole forums. at least there you wont have an annoying poser tryin to belittle you.

also people, block images from "images.auctionworks.com" and you wont see the lame car. if you have FireFox, just right-click and choose block images...

So I take it's not possible to copy a the mini-dvd gamecube format, and then use the freeloader thing to boot it up?:

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-28-70-1ik.html

Just figured I'd ask, it would be nice if this could be done one the gamecube, the same way it is done on the PS2.

refreak:

I've tried that, written an GCM image to an 8cm DVD then tried using Freeloader, but it doesn't work, however, if you can stream from the pc, it's able to be read from that in your DVD drive, I got that working pretty well.

For me...I'm too lazy to bother with anything more complicated than replacing the top cover of my ps2. =P

You can use samsons loader and load GCOS off the mem card if you got AR. you could then boot backups of mini dvd's but be aware that it really makes a differnace of what GC drive you have for what games are supported and such also what media works is getting to be a pain too. I have a dol-001 GC with a version 6 drive and getting any mini dvd's that actualy works is quite a pain. also some people thing if you use mario double dash as your swap disc it works better.

Eh, the search sucks here, and these forums pretty much suck in general (just the way they're built and function i mean)

Anyways, will anyone ever be able to fix the 10mb/27mb stream issue? There's no fix for it now i assume. Is it a problem that's fixable? I just hope someone finds a way around that in the near future.

not likely fixable. I mean just take a look at the hardware. It's a Power PC IBM chip with 40 megs of ram. Problem uses like almost all it can just for the extra resouces like the BBA adaptor and stuff. I think we honestly are lucky that we even get 10 megabit off it. but then again what do I know about these things. Besides why not just try the Action Replay exploit and load minidvdr games instead its much faster. GCOS 1.4 works pretty good I even flash GCOS 1.4 on my viper over cobra 04 bios. I get more games to actualy boot. but my unmoded cube is nice I it boots with GCos of the memcard. I just have to load up action relay first. Which I don't mind. Just remember to usa a acutal nintendo 59 block card for the dol files.
