I copy the movie that i am burning just fine but when i got to use it in my dvd player it seems to have freezeing sections towards the later part of the movie.. is there any one else that has noticed that or is there something that i am doing wrong..

It sounds like you either are using bad media or that you are burning too close to the edge, and maybe too fast a burn. Burn no faster than 4x. In shrink click edit>Preferences>and on the preferences tab click the down arrow and select custom. Now type in 4300 for your target size.

Get good quality media. Go the the media forum for lots of information regarding the best types of media to use. Never use Memorex (commonly known as memosux)because of its uneven dye spread and overall poor quality.

If you downsize the target as suggested and slow the burn down you might get away with using them. I would certainly try before pitching them. Some users swear by them, unlike me who swears at them..LOL.

Next time you buy media though do a thorough search here for recommended brands that give the best longevity and burns.

I have had great success with MIJ Maxells and MIT Maxells. I just got a hundred Taio Yudens to try out. (MIJ = Made in Japan and MIT = Made in Tiawan)

Hi Devans54,
I am new to this and I was going thru the forum and came across your thread. I am having DVD Decript, shrink. I tried to copy some DVDs, but the DVDs which I didn't need to shrink were able to work fine with stand alone DVD player, but when I shrunk the DVD, I was not able to play it on DVD player, though it played on computer. Can you please advise how to go about this.

Check out the DVDdecrypter and DVDShrink guide in my signature block. If you follow the procedure step by step that bbmayo lays out you will be burning perfectly in no time.

Make sure that the media that you are using is good quality. Read through the DVD+R media forum for general recommendations. I personally have had great luck with Maxell media. I just purchased 100 taio yudens and will be giving them a shot in the next week or so.
