Set your target size to 4300 as you are burning too close to the edge.

It looks like it doesn't recognize the media you are using. What are you using?

Others who can read logs will be piping in shortly.

Hey there..thank you SO much for replying so quickly..how do I check the amount of memory being used..I was downloading something during the time of the burn which I have now stopped doing to free up memory..how do I make the target size 4300? I am using TDK DVD-R disks..which I have used in the past with no problems.>Thank u

In Shrink go to edit and click on preferences at the bottom of the menu.
On the preferences tab of the pop up screen that comes up there is a drop down box that says automatic and is set at 4464. Click the down arrow and select custom and type 4300 into the box. You will only have to do this once.

When burning you should not be doing anything else. Do not be connected to the internet. Shut down antivirus, spyware blockers, popup blockers and the like. Only do the one thing when backing up. That should free up the memory.

As far as TDK media goes I cannot comment on that as I have never used it. Others will relate their experience with it. I use maxell DVD+R and taio yuden DVD+R media. No regrets with that as I have not burned a coaster in over 100 backups.

I only burn at 4x speed.

I dont know why but it stops burning at 19 percent..I had no internet sites up..nothing was downloading..just had the dvd burning and it still happens..its just very strange..when I dont see the yellow light coming on the burner it means it stops burning..so I know when it freezes up..I just dont understand why

Was wondering if its fine to have the Video automatic at 95.8%..thats what it is right now when I opened up the video..perhaps that is a cause of this..if it is..what do I have to put it to to work properly? its 3,698GB file

Below are your errors:

1.Recorder: <SONY DVD RW DRU-530A> Version: 2.1c
You need to update the firmware as it is up to 2.1g

2. Physical memory : 511MB (523760kB)

This also was discussed above

I am not the biggest fan of TDK blank media. Suggest you use Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden, Ritek or Maxell

You might want to edit out your serial number in your post. It is the first set of numbers in your posted burn log.

It doesn't recognize or like your media. Ppl here have mixed results with TDK, and kivory666 aka Doc hates them worse than CMC discs.

Your firmware is out of date. 2.1g is the newest, and this may be what is causing the media error. Here is the latest:

Nero cant find your ATAPI driver. I am drawing a blank on how to fix that one, but do a forum search on ATAPI, and it should come up with how to fix it.
9mmruger1 already addressed your memory problem. You shouldn't be doing ANYTHING while burning, unless you like you like your coasters nice and warm, fresh out of the burner :) I don't even multi-task when i am encoding a file.
Your DMA's are on, and you are only burning at 2x, so upgrade the firmware, and get some Tys or Verbatims, and try again. Also check in to the ATAPI issue going on.

i think this means you have Roxio drivers installed, and they have conficts with Nero. Try un-installing them.

MaxBurn ,
That is OK as it took me 6-7 minutes to type it up. Creaky is the one that can type fast. Hell he can give me a 5 minute head start and we will find the same things and still beat me typing. One of these days I'll have to take a typing course

It's still not working..I put in a disc..and it will freeze up at 2 percent..everything was fine til I Tried burning this particular disc..I already upgraded the firmware..I dont know how to fix up that ATAPI thing..strange how whenever I try burning..and it gets stuck at 2 percent..its like the entire machine just freezes up and it takes me actually turning off the drive in order to get internet explorer up again..as far as roxio being on the computer..never had a problem with it being there before..the last time I burned anything was before yesterday and it was fine..so something must be going on just dont know what..have already wasted 5 dvd-r's on this thing

AngelFan,
Try doing another movie since the DVD is saved on the HD. You did use AnyDVD or DVDFAB Decrypter to rip the movie to HD or are you trying to get Shrink to rip it

Your ATAPI controller is in control panel. Here is a link to a fix on that:
http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=101616
Also Bbmayo has some good guides on this:
http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/checking%20DMA.pdf
Also this link talks about DMA setting:
http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47035
Your DMA's are listed as ON in Nero, but check them out anyway. You may have to un-install a driver, reboot PC to have windows reload the driver automatically.

Are you multi tasking while you burn? i dont' really know if taht will help but seeing as how I'm stumped I'll suggest anything, also try to get that roxio out, that might help, it conflicts with Nero.
