I spent a year and a half in a wheel chair in 85 when a German shepherd tried to remove my leg, still have problems with that leg.

Quote: CP is not a Progressive disorder meaning the actual brain damage does not worsen, but the symptoms can become worse over time due to 'wear and tear'. A person with the disorder may improve somewhat during childhood if he or she receives extensive care from specialists, but once bones and musculature become more established, orthopedic surgery may be required for fundamental improvement. People who suffer from CP tend to develop arthritis at a younger age than normal because of the pressure placed on joints by excessively toned and stiff muscles.

Back on June 30th of 2002 I was hit by a car while riding my bike! (June 30th was the second day of summer for me) I broke 3 ribs, and my leg in 4 places. I broke the Tibia in 2 places and the Fibia in 2 places which was a compound fracture. When I the bone broke threw the skin it punctured and Artery. I lost 4 pints of blood. I was in a cast from June 30th to October 3rd.
I was also 10.

So are the doctors... I lost half my blood... It is very rare that ambulances have blood, but the one that responded did, which saved my life! I have a gimp though. (The gimp probably wouldnt be as bad but exactualy a year later I rolled a dun buggy on my leg and broke it in the same spot!)

Yup... when I was 4 I jumped off our 2 story deck because I though I was super man and could fly and broke my arm! :(
I also broke 2 ribs a year ago in a dirt bike accident!
(I think I just do 2 many risky things!):(

no arthritis yet but not as mobile as in my younger days but that could be age in that. i've had to learn how to walk 3 times because they had operated on my legs twice, when i was four with 2 leg casts & when i was 10 with have body cast. 1st time i don't remember the stiches tho i have the scars to proof it on back of each leg from just below the knee to just above the ankle. 2nd time they used 5 stainless steel or aluminum wire stitches. 1 in the left back ankel & 4 on either side of the crotch area. physiotherapist said i was in the cast about 6 weeks to long. did i pay for that in therapy! pain!!!

Well congrats ddp, when you first see a name like that on a forum it's a bland identity, reading posts like this really emphasise the different lives that join on a forum.

i'm use to it as i've no choice. had to use my left hand to write for a week or 2 as i'm a right handed because i suffered 1st to almost 3rd degree burns on my right hand from a homemade rocket engine. couple months later i almost blew the hand off on another rocket engine. ahh the days of a 15yr teenager.
