I'm using shrink to rip and decrypter to burn. When I delete the iso files, they disappear but they still take space on my harddrive. I've run windows washer. Checked for errors . Everything I can think of. How do I get this to delete for real?

Have you tried defragging every couple of burns?

Are you talking about the actual ISO files or the log files that DVD Shrink leaves after encoding?

No I wasn't talking about those. But thanks. I had like 373 of them in there. So I deleted them. I'm talking about disc space on my harddrive. I delete the 4 gig file. Usually shredding it. So it would be deleted permanently. But the actual availablity of harddrive space doesnt increase by 4 gigs. It stays the same. And defraging after every few burns would suck. Thats a lot of extra time. Is there another way around this?

If you think defragging is a headache, wait until your PC starts slowing down. Then, you'll definitely have a headache.

Besides, defragging is kind of like giving your PC a "tune up". And all it costs is a little time.

BTW, when I delete my ISO files, and I go back to see if I got the space back, it's there. There might be something wrong with your HD.

Do you have Norton Anti-Virus running? If yes then look at Norton's Recycle Bin Properties that take over Windows properties.

That's what I say...Norton protected recycle bin. Right click on it and delete all files and your space should come back.

The proper procedure, is to "Right Click" on the "Recycle Bin", then left click on "Empty Norton Recycle Bin", then a message will pop up and you would "Left Click" on "Purge All".
