I have been burning with Shrink for over 8 months - but now it doesnt work.

After my burning is complete...none of my dvd players (including my computer) will play the movie.

Does anyone know what all of a sudden this happens? My blank DVD+Rs are being wasted real quick.

Shrink - 3.1
Nero - 6.6

hi....

....let's have LAST section of your Nero log which lives in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar.

You can differentiate sections via this section divider "====== *** Nero-Burning Rom, History File *** ======"

Thanks everyone. I just want to go over the steps:

First, I will update my DVD Shrink (v3.2.0.15) and Nero software (7.0.1.2O).

Then I will change the DMA to be "ON" and set a burning target size to 4300MB.

Yes there is only one DVD burning drive on my pc notebook. How can I update the firmware?

I will try all of this when I leave work! I'll keep you posted.

Thanks again.

If you use the last link in my signature block in this post you can look up your drives current firmware version and see if it needs to be updated (flashed). Firmware updates help your drive recognize the newest media types, and related burn speeds. Suggestion though, keep your burns to 4x or less til you become experienced and want to experiment.

I think I need some more help. First off - I where can I download the update for Nero 6.6.0.18? Also - can I have instructions on how to download this firmware? I made the other two changes listed below, but I still can't play the dvd in any players. Here is the log. Thanks in advance.

Here is a place where you can DL firmware, just scroll down until you get to teac then clcik on the appropriate category then find your model.

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_all.php

And as far as the Nero thing goes just google Nero6 and click on the official site. In the site go to updates on the left bar.

Then just extract it. Do you have a rar extracter? Wait are you talking about teh Nero file or the firmware?

When I did my firmware update I downloaded to my desk top and double clicked on it and it self installed. I did have some information in a text file explaining what to do. Did the update page offer any help stuff? You might want to check for that as well.

Yeah you should be able to install it by just clicking on it. You are using a rar extracter aren't you? And try extracting it to a folder or something. That's what I do, not sure if that'll help but w/e right.
