Copying DVD using DVD Shrink without Nero.
Is this possible?
Or does one need Nero to copy the DVD?
Thanks

You will need it to burn. If you already have something to burn w/ then it's not neccesary.

@bunmui, if you don't like Nero, just create an Iso image and burn with decrypter or ImgBurn. Works great and there free.

Can anyone give me a step by step on how to burn with Decrypter once you've shrunk the disc with Shrink

Open up DVDD
goto Mode>ISO>Write
then select a file under Source (which is your .iso)
it's in the upper-left of DVDD screen.
destination should be your dvdr by default. if not change to it.
select your write speed (try to stay low.. i burn at 4x)
then hit Write button. (buttons has a harddrive pointing to a dvd)

Ok, my real problem is getting an ISO image with Shrink, when I encode with it normally (without Nero) it just creates two folders for Audio_TS and Video_TS, so how do I "create an ISO Image" (preferably not with decrypter since I want to take things off of the disc and compress it)? Thanks a lot.

@bunmui, after you use shrink in analysis and are ready to backup you will find a screen with several tabs...the one you want is target...scroll down to create ISO image and there you go. Then use ImgBurn or decrypter to burn it...I haven't used shrink in a while but I believe it can be set up automatically to burn the image with Decrypter, but if you want to stay away from Decrypter, then use ImgBurn, Nero, or Copy To Dvd. Hope this provides an answer. Have a good evening.

Using Recode 2 also can do this, just not free as shrink (same author), when I re-author the same principle when I hit backup...I will create an Iso image to be burned. It is strange that for me the ImgBurn burns a better image than Decrypter...I have confirm by using same movie, saem burner...just the ImgBurn looks perfect, as sometimes I have noticed that the Decrypter image isn't as sharp, excluding DL...which either one does DL's perfect.

oohh. when you make iso's with decrypter, you can burn it to a DL disc without compression. or it can be loaded into shrink. In shrink you hit File> Open Disc Image...
To make the 4gig Iso with shrink..
when You hit the backup button.. instead of just hit OK... look closer!
In the first tab.. [Target Device]
there are two drop boxes. the first drop box called Select backup Target: .. select ISO image File.
Then the second dropbox should change the Target File accordingly!
and there you go!
