hello,
i am new to this copy/burning dvd stuff. i just got a dvd writer and i am using DVD shrink and will be burning with NERO. i managed to get myself throught the first steps of copying the dvd to the computer, but when i click on backup the encoding screen comes on and then a window pops up and says copy protection error, the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error. what the hell does that mean?

also,
can i just remove my cd-rom, install the dvd rom in it's place and copy from the dvd rom to the dvd writer using clone cd?

Hi Eagle, and welcome to AD,

This burning stuff is easy :) once you've got everthing right.

Here's a guide how to start; like most guides, it can't hold your hand but it's a good one.
