I installed both versions 3.2.0.14 and 3.1.7 onto new computer.

Each time I launch the software, my system freezes. Task manager does not show the application under 'applications' but does list it at 97% of memory at 'Processes'. Windows event viewer does not log the problem. No splash for Shrink ever shows even when left alone for hours.

I am running XP SP2 with Celeron 2.2 Ghz, 512 MB Ram and Nero StartSmart v. 1.0.1.21.

Antivirus and firewalls are off except firewall at router. I have installed and uninstalled countless times. Other (older) computer behind same firewall/router does not have any problems.

Please help.

you dont need both verisons delete both and do a clean install on the 3.2.0.14 verison (which is the last update of dvd shrink.

update your nero also its 6.6.0.16 is the lastest ,so you way off

Sorry for the ambiguity. I dont have both versions of Shrink on the computer at once. Currently running 3.2.0.14.

Nero StartSmart was just a launcher, I was running Nero 6.3.1.17. I have now upgraded to 6.6.0.18.

Still, Shrink freezes system.

if it WAS installed at one time you may need to run roxio zapper,the drag to disc program can cause problems heres the link

I uninstalled Shrink. Downloaded and ran Roxio Zap. Restarted. Installed Shrink.

No change.

Any other ideas?

I have the following installed:

Alcohol 120% v1.9.2
Decrypter v3.5.4.0
Nero v6.6.0.18 bundled
Windows Media Player v10.00.00.3646

I had formatted the drive and installed a store bought copy of XP about 6 weeks ago.

does it freeze with DVD Decrypter? or use a different program like CloneDVD 2 and AnyDVD and see it that works
