does anyone know when blu-ray players will be avalible?

do you think that they will have Band of Brothers on blu ray? they fucking better

are blu-ray movies going to cost more than DVDs?

I don't think there's an official date for them yet but i think it will be sometime next year (could be wrong) More than likely they will put all series/seasons that are out on DVD on to one Blu-ray, DVD movies hold no more than 8.5gb Blu Ray hold 25 single and 50 dual layer so yeah there gonna cost a **** lot more than DVDs

Well with any new technology its going to cost more, but since its in HDTV its going to take up more space and will = about the same amount of BRD (Blu-Ray Disk) to DVD. Since the BRD's don't cost all that much to manufacture about the same as a normal DVD (maybe even less since they are thinner) I think it will be the same $89.99 (just like when dvds came out they were the same as vhs) for the set in BRD unless stores want to be dumbasses and jack up the price which they probably will do. So yeah it'll cost a bit more but for something like band of brotheres it'll be just $10 more

Toshiba announced a triple layer HD DVD that can hold 45 GB of data.

TDK has a working 4-layer BluRay disk that holds 100 GB, and is looking to double the capacity.

Also: Blu-Ray players might be more expensive because there is a lot more emphasis on precision for the laser, requiring additional hardware and innovation on the disks.
