Does any1 have this DNAS code yet? I can't find it anywhere :(

I'd also be interested to know if any US systems can get online.

Had the same problem. Looks like the patch is legit, as I had error code 402 before the patch, error code 833 after. 833 is a region code error, which means the game is ntsc/j, while the console you're playing on is most likely ntsc/u, which is what I have. Now, if you have a ps2 ver 1-8, you can use paradox's machine id changer to switch your code to ntsc/j. But if you're like me and are using ver 9 and up, then you're just SOL. If anyone from paradox is out there, please update your fabulous utility, since most people haven't held on to their first gen consoles anymore!

I tried using Paradox's Machine ID Changer and I got DNAS ERROR 864 -Invalid Media.
I think this game has an extra safety measure that we're not aware of.

In order to play online, you need a machine id changer, and need to change your consoles ID to a JAP one

the trouble is finding a JAP console ID for your system >_>

psx2man: do a google search for ps2 versions. I think this info can also be found for the
playstation2 entry on wikipedia. as for the machine ID changer, if you can't find it at the
address provided above by another kind user, you can always try ps2nfo.com. Just don't
post anything about the machine id changer on the boards, or they will ban you faster
than you can say "Big Boss". I think you might be in luck, as I remember seeing an ntsc/j
machine id code specifically for 390001 consoles during my search for a solution myself.
Good luck, and let us know if it works out.

xenoph: have you tried another burn, in case it was just a bad one? a media error would hopefully just be a disc problem, and not another security block. if it is, then I guess we're waiting until march.

I kept getting the 405 and 883 errors no matter what I did.

I changed my v7 39001 to the Japanese NTSC/J 39003 machine ID and could still only get to the DNAS screen.

I even had the mgs3 setup a japanese online config file on my mem card to no avail.

Maybe it's a problem with my router (stretching)???

Any1 get this thing to run?

I burned 2 copies, one with the patch, and one without.
I think the DNAS is right, because the unpatched version gives a different error. At first Then I got a region error with the patched one (833 I think) because I had the wrong ps2 version, but then I downloded the ID changer and changed my Console ID.

The ID changer you can get at ps2nfo, but you have to be registered.

I had trouble getting a JAP ID , but if you google for "2A D2 11 01", which is the JAP region code, you'll find a couple. Not all are valid though. I tried different ones and got error 880 (Hardware error).

This one is the only one that did not give me the hardware error:
2A D2 11 01 XX XX 39 01
07 2C 00 1A XX XX C7 13 (Where XX is YOUR PS2 serial # )
MAKE SURE YOU WRITE DOWN YOUR ID BEFOR CHANGING IT!!

However, it gave me a 864 -Invalid Media error.

I'm pretty sure it's not a burn error, cause I always use the same media and it works all the time. Besides the disc works, I can play MG1 and MG2 or watch the cutscenes no problem.

your problem is that if you change the ID of ps2 the online menu tell you that there is a problem with the configuration of ps2 network adapter, to pass this screes you must reconfigure your ps2 network adapter.

but the error dnas still for me, i have the 880 error , uncompatibility hardware

If you get error 880 that means you inserted a bad ID.
Try making small changes until you get past error 880.

Like the 00 from the LinkID, some JAP net adapters use 01 instead of 00.

I'm getting a 402 error code and I have a real copy of the game (not pirated). Any idea what it could be? I'm using zone loader to boot it, and I already changed my console id to a Japanese one. Also where do I go in Subsistence to have it make a network profile for the adapter (someone mentioned that earlie rin this thread)?

If you're geeting an error with an original game, it may be possible the game won't work unless it's a JAP console.

Did you change the Network ID too?
Because the Network Adapter needs to be JAP too.
