dude bit late, but nice work on the halo theories! i thought it was fantastic.. about star wars and lord of the rings.. why wud ya wanna rite theories bout them when they've already been done?? they were both book novels (and comic for star wars) before being made into films, so all the theories are taken care of..

Good point lol. The only useful thing I know about The Lord of the rings is that J.R.R Tolkien didnt write some of them.

So why are we talking about lord of the rings
Papa_face since you know stuff about the halo movie are they also going to make a number 2
Two things are infinite: The universe and human stupidity but I am not so sure about the universe.

Yes they will make a second Halo movie. Its obvious if you think about it. Halo the movie will be released in 2007. This means that Halo 3 will have just been released therefore the events of Halo 3 will not be in the movie. The Halo movie will include parts from the MC's childhood and then the events of Halo CE and possibly a small part of Halo 2. The second movie will continue from the events of the previous movie and include the rest of Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Yeah he is. He loves Halo so he was the natural choice. Not forgetting of course that he is a brilliant director/producer. I get my information from reliable sources, sometimes a bit to reliable.

yeh cool.. its gd too cus he makes longer films than average 1 n 1/2 hr films like ova directors.. cus i think halo needs bout 2 1/2 - 3 hrs... like lord of the rings did.. wot bout u? wot u reckon?

It depends entirely on the cast in my opinion. I wouldnt like to sit through the film when they actors arent up to standard. Although I think Bungie and Microsoft will make sure they cast is good.

woah so they are accually using real people for this movie? i thought it was gunna be animation. id like it at about 2 hours to maybe 2.5. any more will be too much. i couldnt have sat thru kong if i didnt have my gf there with me. it was 3 hours.

Yes it will be actors. The Halo movie will be very long. Not only because Peter Jackson is producing it, but also because this give Bungie/Microsoft the chance to put stuff in the movie that they couldnt fit in the game because of time constraints or space on the disk.

anyone know what happened to the mc as a kid? they could creat an emotion bond where
tradgedy stikes when hes but a little tike and it parents and him are captured. then he is
forced to watch his parents get shredded and then the covenant laught at him, beat him to
within an inch of his life, and he passes out. he then wakes up back where he was found
severly hurt. this led to him joining the military and becoming so good.

He didn't want to be in the military. Dr Halsey and Jacob Keyes (Captain Keyes) kidnapped him and other children like him. They took him and the others to a secret base where they were forced to obey orders.

first of all i have the fall of Reach right infront of me and john was not kiddnappted, but he wasnt recruited either. he was kind of picked from a bunch of kids and they just put them in like a camp/bootcamp type thing where they trained them and then they told them they were gonna be like super soilders(well Deja{the first AI the spartens meet and get trained by}shows them videos of the actual spartens who fought the persians)and they began training before they even knew bout the covenaunt. Their first mission was i think a raid on some smugglers or rebels or somthing but not against the covenaunt. Im supprised no one said anything bout this when Anubis started saying how the Cov could kill the MC's parents infront of him. Well Anubis u wanted to no wat happen in the MC's childhood. Well wat i feel like telling u now is the Covenaunt werent really known about during the MC's childhood.

know in depth in unreal. but thanks.

The MC was kidnapped, but not in the stereotypical sense of kidnapping. John was taken from the primary education facility. As the whole operation was secret and was therefore not authorised by the school he was in effect kidnapped.

Seeing that this thread has way more pages than I want to read...
I did read a couple of the first few post. Somebody asked if there was footage from halo 3 yet somebody posted a link of MC walking threw a hallway... I remember seeing (and I thought that I got it here at afterdawn) a video clip from Halo 3. There were levels that I know that were not in 1 or 2 and another part of the clip showed MC walking in a open area of some sort and a covenant dropship flies over head dropping a bunch of Elites around MC, then the clip fades to black...
Anyone else see this? Is there more to that?

if i remember right, it was a demo released of nothing more than showing what they can do and what may be capable for the 360, but its not ingame or from any game. just like the ff7 opening scene on ps3 at e3. im not positive tho.
