I have had a rough month or so with my burners and Shrink. I finally splurged and replaced/upgraded alot of my stuff:

Old: NEC 2x speed +R burner
New: Two Sony 16x +/-/R/RW drives (both internal)

Old: 512 MB memory
New: 2 Gig Memory

Old: 220 Watt Power Supply
New: 500 Watt Power Supply

Old: 1 HD - 120 GIG
New: 2 HD - The above plus a 400 Gig drive

Old: System default video card
New: High-end $200 Video card (I forget the name)

Pretty slick...however, I am noticing that I still get memory errors in Shrink. I just hat a freeze 98% through the anaylze (the backup phase not the open disc analyze) with a memory error. Why would Shrink have memory problems when I have 2 gig of memory? I had several movies on my HD I've been Shrinking/burning one after another, could previous openings of Shrink be still soaking up memory (ie closing out of Shrink not closing out program from active memory)?

Did you set your partitions on your hdd's to NTFS instead of FAT? I believe FAT file system limits file size to no more than 4 GB which could cause a problem if what you are putting in the file is bigger. This is something I always do if installing a new hdd.

I don't know much about it other than what I've experenced...Which amounts to :
FAT=bad
NTFS=good

Go to windows explorer, click on the drive letter and then select properties. It will tell you what file system you are using.

Normally it does not hurt to have a bunch of movies on the hdd. I would delete them if I were having your problems though. If you use a specific folder as a Shrink target, Shrink will always ask if you want to delete them before starting the next backup. I always do.
