I've recently had a problem with sseveral DVD's: Brither's Grimm/Skyhigh/The Cave and The Great Raid. I get an error message. After trying to use DVD DeCrypter and/or DVDFab to decrypt I use DVD Shrink and this is when the problem begins. The error message reads:"DVD shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid data file C:\ The_Great_Raid\Video_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB. Overlapped I/O operation in progress" There seems to be and extra VTS_01_1 file or a VTS_01_1 and _2 or even a duplicate of all the files. Anybody have any advice?
¨ open up DVD Decrypter <> put your original dvd movie inside burner or dvd-rom
<> Mode, ISO, Read
<> set your source <===== where the original is located
<> set your destination <===== to your hard drive
<> click on Decrypt (now sit tight and wait until it's completed)
Once it's successfully ripped the ISO into your hard drive
¨ open DVDShrink
¨ <> goto File -> Open Disc Image and open the ISO file just ripped
¨ <> do the Shrink thing either Full Disc or Re-author, your choice
¨ <> hit Backup and tell Shrink to Burn with Decripter
¨ <> place a blank disc in your drive, set the burn speed and hit the burn button
¨
¨ When finished burning, remove the newly copied disc and you got it!
That is from 2oldGEEK in a thread about DVD navigation error.
This produced a perfect full copy of Brothers Grimm for me. I haven't tried it yet on any other movies.

This is more that likely caused by an encryption issue, the easiest way to eliminate this problem is to download and install AnyDVD. AnyDVD will run in the backround helping to crack the encryption while dedrypter or shrink are ripping the DVD, it comes with a 21 day free trial before you have to buy it. I suggest using it with shrink on these movies and see what happens.

Open/run shrink and goto edit--->preferences and click on the File I/O tab, make sure the "Enable overlapped I/O" option is unchecked.

There are several things that can cause this:
Media quality.
File size burning to disk.
Write speed.
Player compatability with the media.
Try:
Use media that is considered good quality(usually made in japan).
Have shrink create file sizes of < or = 4300MB so as not to burn too close to the outer edge of the disk.
Burn your backups at 4-8X.
Use media that you know the player is compatable with, if still having problems try booktyping. Booktyping fools the player into identifying the disk as a DVD-ROM, it works with burners that support it and only with DVD+R media.

dvd shrink still works on some movies,but not all. The problem with encryption is getting tougher and tougher to crack. I have many programs that i use. The one that works every time is dvdfab. it has three platforms to choose from, i mostly use the express, just copy the movie and leave the special features off. this is a nice feature, i never watch the features any way. dual layer burning is fixing to get even tougher, blue ray will set the new standard. DVDfab updates regularly.so download the trial and get to burning.
