These movies will not allow me to back up.I have tried decrypter first and it backs up ok but when I go to shrink to open and reauthor it, it says shrink encountered an error and couldn't read the file "its copy protected"
Any one else have any ideas.
Thanks,
J
I will tell you how i do it and it should work.I use AnyDVD running in the background to break the encryption and rip the dvd with dvdfabdecrypter.Then i encode with DVD Shrink and burn with Imgburn(in your case you can use DVD Decrypter.nearly the same).But if to rip you want to use DVD Decrypter you have to use it with AnyDVD and process the movie through Voblanker and then you encode it and burn.If you dont have AnyDVD and want to download a free 21day trial you can do it from here http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html .
@BIGJJ
I don't know about Bros.Grimm, but for "The Great Raid" all you need is DVD Decrypter+Shrink. I just finished a backup. I ripped the movie with DVD Decrypter in ISO mode and then with shrink open disc image and processed "Movie Only". Simple as that. In less than an hour I had a perfec copy. No AnyDVD, no DVD43 or whatever...
Good luck.
Cool thanks guys,
Yeah its weird sometimes, I can get a movie that everyone else has trouble backing up ..and back up no problem..with just shrink and decryptor. Yesterday I couldn't back either of those up..I wonder if the production company puts a different kind of encryption on the first or second batches of movies it distributes just to get the copies out and restrict a few of the newbies from copying them..Otherwise I don't understand .I have everyonce and a while a movie that I have to run through decryptor first then shrink..but then I always can back it up.Never two in a row like this.
I also hear stories and read where people have trouble backing up movies that I had no trouble with(makes me think there is something different on each batch of discs that get produced)
Anyway enough babbling..I ran AnyDVD in the background and it burned fine..had to be different encryption.
Thnaks,
J
Glad it worked for you.Before i used to use only DVD Decrypter but whem it stopped being updated i started using AnyDVD and i tell,i never had any tough dvd.Any dvd is amazing but the only thing against it is that we have to pay for,but come on,everyone knows its the best well spent money.It makes backing up much easier for you.Keep burning. :-)
