God damn... no offense bro, but that scan is one of the worst TY ever? It can't be a genuine YUDEN media that's all I know.

I dont have any scans but I do have some feedback if anyones situation is like mine.
For the last few months I've been looking for the best DVDR that would work in all my DVD players, Xbox, PS2, and GameCube. I burn with a I/O Magic burner bought from Best Buy. Until I got my GC modded, the Sony Accucore discs did a very good job (I forget who makes em). Past couple of years I've bought Riteks with mixed results. Ive found the Riteks with the Silver top work well, but the ones with the paper on top are absolute garbage, although they are both "RitekG05". When I say garbage I mean 50% of the time they worked on my Xbox, and 10% of the time they worked on my PS2. So I stopped with Riteks and have used the Sony accucore and they'e been great. Well along came my GC modchip and the Sonys didn't cut it anymore. My GC for some reason HATES them, 0% success. So off to find a media that works well on all these systems. I saw a spindal at Wal-Mart 100pk Maxells for $27.77. I thought I'd give em a try because I know Maxell's quality has always been at least decent. Well turns out they're RitekG05. So I burnt a GC game and voila works perfectly. Then I tested them in everything else. So far my DVDs 100%, Xbox 100%, PS2 99% and GC 100%. Reason I say PS2 99% is because one RPG I played had a couple of glitches throughtout the game. It was tolerable, but I don't think it has anything to do with this media. Eiter whomever ripped it, or my burner is to blame.
Side note. For all my systems including DVD players, I burn all my media at 4X rather than 8X. Reason being that the burnt disc will not work at all in my GC and Xbox, and will glitch like a mother in my DVD players. But for some really strange reason since day 1 of my PS2 burning, the games work great if I burn at 8x. If I burn a PS2 game at 4X, my games all crash at one point or another, or are very glitchy, or have horrendous load times. Go figure.
Hope this can be of help.
~Jason

Since it's been awhile, here comes the famous genuine YUDEN000T02 8X DVD+R "made in Japan". It looks pretty sweet to me, considering I burned it near the edge (4445MB). Again, I GUARANTEE anyone (anybody) that this can't be done with CMC MAG with 4445MB, LOL.

I just scan some Fuji made in Taiwan and they read:
Unique Disk Identifier:[ DVD+R :Ritek-R03-002]
I dint know that Something made in TW would have the Ritek stamp on it?

I think all Ritek media is made in Taiwan. It's some of the best of the "budget" media, but it's a far cry from Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, or the MIJ High Grade Maxell's. Ritek has been going south for awhile, according to most knowledgeable burn gurus I know. I stopped using it. I switched to the MIJ/MIT Sony DVD-R's. The MIJ ones coded out as TYG02, Taiyo Yuden's. My scans on the MIT Sony's have blown away my Ritek Scans.

Ditto with Tokijin, was a longtime user of Ritek, G-03 and G-04 disks, but the G-05 do not seem to be the same quality as the prior batches. Now I have become a Verbatim Junkie, Love those 16X disks.

??????? i thought i had converted ya to the Taiyo Yuden camp?? guess my support has been lacking as of late~ hehe...only messing with ya buddy... :)
have a good one, it's been about 2 years since i've bought Ritek media, my old batch are just fine Ridata Ritek 8x DVD-R G05s, but, as people have seen...the quality control these days are becoming more and more suspicious and the quality of Riteks definitely has been on the downhill...moreso with the white printables, but i would be weary nevertheless on ALL Ritek media...i used to be a big supporter of Ritek (few years ago) as that was ALL i would ever buy; but since then i only recommend Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim now to most people asking...

Don't get me wrong, I love the old TYG-01's, work on everything I own, the TYG-02 will occasionally skip on the workhorse DVD player a Philips 793C unit, but the Verbatims run awesomely on all. Besides, still have 200+ of the TYG02 and over 75 of the TYG-01, will be burning them for a while.

All Verb's I know of except the TY Verb's (only available in the U.K.) are made in Taiwan. They're the exception to the "Taiwan" rule. For a good laugh, I checked out the Staples brand DVD media. It was made in India! That screams quality, everybody knows the best media is made in India lol.

Yeah I think they should attach small electrodes to CMC Mag media. Anytime someone picks a batch, they will be shocked. Each subesquent shock will be double the voltage of the previous one. This will consist of a series of 5 shocks up to 1000 volts. If after the 5th shock you still purchase CMC Mag, then you are an adequately mentally impaired, and worthy of your prize.

Or, could be just another one that is into SM, and all that increasing, voltage, all that electric shock is nothing than mere pleasure! Who says CMC Mags are useless!
