OK, I tried to search for this, but have had no luck. I am trying to use DVD-RB PRO and want to make a back up of my original DVD. I ripped it using DVD Decrypter and then went thru all the setting and processed it(I did movie only). When complete it gave me a file that was 6.7Gig. I thought it automatically produced a size of 4.3gb(or so) and this was the whole point of DVD-RB? Did I do something wrong? Was I supposed to shrink the size to what I wanted it to be then opend up DVD Rebuilder?
thanks and sorry if this is a repost, but didn't see anything in the last 30 days that covered this.

So, you did the following:

Ripped to HD with DVDDecrypter
Opened RB and pointed to source, working, and output folders
Removed unwanted audio/subtitles
Selected movie only
Selected one-click mode
Selected encoder
Hit back-up and waited 1 1/2 - 3 hours for RB to finish (depending on which encoder you selected)

This is the process in a nutshell and is by no means detailed... I'm just thinking you left something out...

What did I leave out? That's pretty much what I did. A few passes thru CCE and the final output is the movie but 6.8gigs worth not a 4.4gig. Any help is appreciated

Which CCE are you using and are you sure you have the paths setup correctly? Guide here

I am running DVD rebuilder at 1.04 and CCE at 2.67. Again, it seems like I followed the guide properly, but the end result is pretty much the same size as it began.

Double check your settings... I use the same version of CCE as you, and I have never had an issue...

I also use CCE 2.67 and Basic with no problems. Only time I had a size problem was when I first installed the free version and my setup was not correct, use the Pro now. Reinstalled and it worked fine.

Sorry to keep going round and round. Where can I verify the setting portion that controls the size of the output file?

This thread covers Hidden Settings in RB pretty well:

Hey man,
I may be off but it sounds to me like you have the moded as "no compression" Under the mode dropdown the first grouping offers CCE mode,ReJig Mode,ProCoder Mode etc; the last choice in this first grouping is "no compression" see if this is checked.

Hope this helps

Sorry for the double post but to answer your question I found this in the DVD RB Pro Help/content dropdown:

"These are settings not available via the GUI, but can be set in the 'Rebuilder.ini' file in the your DVD Rebuilder program directory. (Note: this is not the same as the file created in the WORKING directory named 'Rebuilder.ini'). These settings are for advanced users, otherwise they wouldn't be hidden.

All optional settings MUST be placed in the '[Options]' section of the .ini file, otherwise they will be ignored. Any settings changed here will not be activated until the next time you run DVD-RB.

Target Output Size

TargetSectors= nnnn
CCETargetSectors=nnnn
ReJigTargetSectors=nnnn
QuEncTargetSectors=nnnn
HCTargetSectors=nnnn
ProcodertSectors=nnnn

Use Sectors, 1 sector = 2Kb.
Example: CCETargetSectors=2236400

As a reference the default for DVD-RB is 2236400 sectors and the maximum for a DVD-5 is around 2267500. You should always leave a some room for error.

TargetSectors will be the default for all methods. Other, mode specific, target sector settings will override it when using that mode.

Disclaimer: Don't blame DVD-RB if you use this hidden option and the result is too large or small. Remove the setting and try again."

OK I give up, I just redid all this and still a 6 gig file. Heres what I have:
Ripped whole movie using DVD Decrypter to file mode
then rebuilder settings
Mode CCE checked, Movie only checked, One click checked, suppress warnings and enable output checked
SETTINGS CCE SP checked, all CCE's point to the CCE directory, General setup has all directories lister correct, Advance settings under CCE have VBR at 25, Quality at 16 and VBR passes at 7.
I even when into the INI file that was mentioned above and inputted this line CCETargetSectors=2236400 this was placed under the options menu prior to any other headers. Please help me I don't want to give up on this method.

I don't know about you but I only have CCE BASIC; not SP? Secondly my advanced settings are 25,16,2 Maybe you should check BASIC though?

Don't give up as Rebuilder Pro and CCE are a great combo.

@toddn149, friend I'm not for sure if this can help, but I know that I have Iso output checked, which means that the final folder actually has two folders (1 is an Iso Image and the other is the Video folder). If I highlight the complete folder it looks doubled, but I know that I have two identical folders (one to burn with ImgBurn and the other with Nero). I just like the choice. Is that something that you have done as well. I'm just trying to help.

I use Rebuilder Pro/CCE Basic and have not had any such problems.

@toddn149, you know maybe try another encoder (HC by Hanks or QuEnc) just to see if it handles the compression or not. I have actually swapped between CCE and HC quite frequently with no issues with the quality that HC puts out.
