Hi guys,

I've burned a back-up copy of Blade Trinity with DVD Shrink successfully with no errors. Unfortunately when I try to do the same for the Bonus DVD. When DVD SHrink tries to read the disk before ending it gives me a Disk error. I'm thinking it's a encrypting issue. So I use DVD Decryptor which has worked for me in the past and I get the following error message through-out the whole process:

"The disk is not suppose to be protected by CSS/CPPM so this is somewhat Strange! Would you like to try and decrypt the encrypted data?"

I tried hitting Yes, Yes to All, No and No to All. DVD Decryptor finishes copying all the files to my H/D but when I use DVD Shrink to compress it, I get an error saying that the there's wrong data on the VOB files which I received the error message on DVD Decryptor.

I know this is kind of long, but I would really appreciate it if anyone has any ideas on how to crack this? It's been an ongoing battle :( THanks,

This is old news, Blade Trinity is nothing special, even DVD Decrypter alone can rip it flawlessly. If you still can't get it, then it's a bad pressed, dirty or it could be a badly scratched disc that's all.

What kind of media/blank did you used? What's the MID? And how fast did you burned on your first backup copy?

Ok, the first disk, I used DVD Shrink and Nero and it worked like a charm. I'm using Phillips 4.7gb DVD+R discs. After I used DVD Decryptor, it still at 7gb. So what I normally do afterwards is use DVD Shrink to compress it. Now when I use it gives me an error message saying "invalid data on VOB file" which is the same VOB file that I had the error message on DVD Decryptor.

What's a mid?

Thanks again,

I forgot to tell you that I'm having the same issue backing up Madagascar. I'm trying DVDFab Platinum to see if I have better luck with it.

OK let's take a step back here before we proceed because I just want to know exactly what's going on, so I can help you better. So far this is what I understand:

<> you were able to successfully backed up Blade Trinity with DVD Shrink into a single layer 4.7 disc using DVD+R Philips.

<> after you used DVD Decrypter, it still at 7GB. So what you normally do afterward is have DVD Shrink to compress. Now when you used DVD Shrink it gave you an error message saying "invalid data on VOB file" which is the same VOB file that you had the error message on DVD Decryptor?

But I thought you said; you were able to successfully ripped and backed up into a 4.7GB DVD+R Philips disc? This is confusing. Here's my question to you:

Why are you trying to backup Blade Trinity again when you'd successfully backed up on a Philips DVD+R already?

Or is it that now you're trying to backup the "Bonus and extras" from your already backed up disc, or from the original disc of "Blade Trinity" and came up with an "invalid data on VOB file" error?

No offense here and I really mean it, but my last suggestion is get rid of those Philips. Philips is not consider one of them "high quality media", the only media I recommend to members are: genuine Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim "advanced azo or datalife plus" and MAXELL (made in japan by Hitachi).

To solve all of your problems, including your new issue with "MADAGASCAR" and "Blade Trinity + the Bonus & Extras", here's what you need to do:

<> get the latest DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 here http://www.dvdidle.com/download/DVDFabDecrypter29.exe
<> get VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 here http://members.aol.com/posunplugged/jsoto/VobBlanker_2100_exe.zip

Now follow the following steps:

<><> THE PROCESS <><>

<01> first, rip the movie (Blade Trinity, Blade's Bonus or MADAGASCAR) with DVDFAB Decrypter 2.9.6.8 into your hard drive

<02> open up VobBlanker 2.1.0.0 and PROCESS the VIDEO_TS file through VobBlanker
** to properly "process" your ripped VIDEO_TS file follow these 2 steps **
<A> set your input = browse to your hard drive and select your VIDEO_TS file that you ripped with DVDFAB Decrypter earlier, then click OPEN.
<B> set your output = make a new folder on your hard drive (example: make a folder name BLADE TRINITY BONUS and a sub-folder called VIDEO_TS inside BLADE TRINITY BONUS), now browse to BLADE TRINITY BONUS, VIDEO_TS and click OK.
<C> now click on PROCESS at the bottom, wait and relax until VobBlanker is done. Once VobBlanker is completed, EXIT out (it should take like 10 minutes only).

<03> open up DVD Shrink, then Open Files and continue with your usual shrinking process. Once DVD Shrink is done, just burn it with any of your desire burning engines.

Here is a picture of what I'm talking about incase if you're lost or doesn't know what I'm talking about. Example: the movie I'm "processing" is "EXORCISM EMILY ROSE", but you can do it with any new or old movies as you're desired.

That's it... easy as sippin' on some Vodka. Best of lucks and happy burning!!

Guess what, I downloaded DVDFab platinum edition and also VOB Blank, but I'll I used was DVDFab. It was pretty good. I was able to burn both Blade & Madagascar with no issues, I haven't seen the whole movie yet but, I saw some seens and it seems to be fine. I'll definately look into buying those DVDs that you advised.

One final question, which are better, DVD-R or DVD+R?

Thanks a mill bro.
