I/O Read errors on dvd shrink

I noticed that tremj said that newer disc weren't working very well w/ dvd shrink what if got the same errors but have been getting them on random discs for the past couple of years. Is there a way to fix it w/ shrink or should I switch rippers.

In the main screen of DVD Shrink, go to Options->Preferences and untick the option that reads Enable I/O Overlapping, this may increase ripping performance.
