So i have been trying to back up a movie with DVD Shrink while keeping all the menus and extras along with the movie. So i open up DVD Shrink and open the movie (Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle) then i remove all the unwanted audio and what not. So then i click on Backup to burn it with nero, but after that DVD Shrink closes? the backup menu doesnt even come up, shrink just closes. Anybody have any idea whats going on? im using maxwell media and i have a lite on burner. Or can anybody else reccommend a easy way to backup a movie with the extra features?

It's been awhile well over a year but I don't think shrink can handle Harold & Kumar. Download dvdfab decrypter to rip the files then open the files in shrink and process as usual. Here's a link:

You could try anydvd, it's a driver that runs in the backround while using Decrypter or shrink helping them crack the copy protection and produce a backup. It comes with a 21 day free trial before you have to buy it. All you have to do is install it, reboot, insert the DVD, run shrink as you normally would, anydvd will do it's thing without any user input.

You can try any dvd and clone - free 21 day trial less cpu intensive.
But something else may be going here w/ shrink. Shrink it pretty cpu intensive so no multi tasking. Even with other ripping progs best not to multi task. Make sure you have good air circulation - are the fans clean? You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling. There could also be a registry conflict so run a registry cleaner.
Oh and also one thing, If i use CloneDVD will it keep all the extras and menus? Ive already backed up this movie. But i just cant seem to backup this movie with all the extras.
Guys, to break all the protections use dvd fab decrypter, it´s free.
To make changes, if you use DVD Shrink and it doesn t work use Nero recode, it´s the same thing.

I still cant burn the whole movie. I burned it a few days ago with DVD Decryter then used DVD Shrink and burned with decrypter worked fine! But i want the extra features so i want to back it up again. Its just when i open up DVD Shrink and try to backup the full movie it shuts down, Shrink worked fine when i copied it before but i had used decrypter before. Anybody have any tips? I have Clone DVD, DVD Decrypter but im not sure how to use these to back up a whole movie. Does anybody know of a guide?

Yes clonedvd will back the full movie - just use that option. Even with that option you can 'uncheck' which extras you don't want. You can also set anydvd to 'remove annoying adverts & trailer' and 'jump to title menu' this will take you start to the main mneu when playing and throw the rest of the stuff in the back.
