hi there! i had the same prob as u guys 'unauthorized download blablabla' and i did as it said on the error page:
3) Your browser did not send a referer. This normally happens if you right click on a link and select save-as, or if you copy and paste a link into a new browser window and press Enter. It may also be that your browser is set up to not send any referer. But left clicking on a link works just fine and has been tested in IE6, Netscape 6, Opera6, FireFox and Safari
Some software firewalls, for instance the Norton Personal Firewall (which is also part of Norton Internet Security) or ZoneAlarm remove the referer from HTTP requests which will block any downloads on any site that does a referer check. Hence such options should always be turned off. In Norton you have to go to the Privacy Settings and disable browser privacy (which doesn't really protect your privacy anyway as your IP address will always be logged regardless of that setting), in ZoneAlarm you have to go to Privacy -> Cookie Control -> Custom and uncheck "remove private header information".
it works for me. so hope it will work for u too. i just turned off the browser privacy. but is it safe to do that!?

I don't know what works for you guys and what doesn't but if I click on the link in IE6 it opens BitTorrent, Save As doesn't work. If you go to your Temporary Internet Files folder you will find that the torrent was in fact downloaded others wise it wouldn't run properly. Will that is what I do, but do what ever works for you. Best of luck.

hi,
I found that it wasn't a firewall problem for me. There are a bunch of "add-ons" found in IE 6. i disabled several of the ones currently loaded. Worked like a charm.Tools>Internet Options>Programs>Manage add ons
Cheers,

Ok fine so you disabled some addins and it worked. That's wonderful!.... but do you fancy sharing those you disabled with the rest of us? :)
Also BE CAREFUL! This can lead to holes in your security if you are not careful! (which seems to be the aim of this site now! LOL)

I have found this somewhere on the web. try it all out. It is not my info but something I found. Hope it helps.
Quote: "I have sorted these fix according to the most likely cause, so start with step 1 and work your way through them. After each step, it is a good idea to clear your temporary internet files as sometimes it holds data that will need to be refreshed for the fix to take full effect.
In all cases, make sure there is no hardware interfering. If you are using a router and it has an option to block http referrers, make sure it ALLOWS http referrers through.
Step One - change the way you download your torrents
1. Open any Windows file folder (Not IE) and go to "Tools"/"Folder Options..."
OR
Go to "Control Panel"/"Folder Options"
2. In "Folder Options", go to "File Types" and scroll down to ".TORRENT" and put the focus on it (click it)
3. Click on the "Advanced" button in the lower-right hand corner of the box
4. Put a check next to "Confirm Open After Download"
5. LEFT-Click on torrent link on SN and the Save dialog box comes up but unlike before, it stays up and doesn't automatically open the file.
6. Click the "Save" button, not the "Open" button, then just finish the same way as if you have right-clicked and hit "Save as..."
If TORRENT does not exist in the list (must be TORRENT and not BIT TORNADO TORRENT etc..), then at step 2, click NEW, type in TORRENT. Click advanced and choose your BT client then click ok. Then proceed with step 3.
If you are using a download manager, you must enable it to send an "HTTP REFERRER". Some anagers have this while others dont. If it is not an option on yours, try a manager that does support sending a referer.
Make sure you are on an official SN.org mirror. Just open your browser and navigate to www.suprnova.org Accessing SN.org from a link on a third party website MAY send you to a non-official mirror.
Step Two - File Association
1. Open any Windows file folder (Not IE) and go to "Tools"/"Folder Options..."
OR
Go to "Control Panel"/"Folder Options"
2. In "Folder Options", go to "File Types" and scroll down to ".TORRENT" and put the focus on it (click it)
3. Make sure "Opens with" is set to your BT client. If it isnt, click Change then select your BT client from the list.
Step Three - Browser config
1. If you are running Opera, you must enable referer logging.
2. If your browser security level is set at high, try moving to medium or adding SN.org to your trusted sites list.
Step Four - Firewall configuration
Try disabling all firewalls on your system and try to download. If you can, just use the process of elimination to figure out which is causing the issues. Please note: some firewalls such as Norton Internet Security DO NOT completely shut off unless you boot the computer with them disabled.
1. Check your firewalls browser/referer settings. Anything that is listed as "browser privacy" or "referer blocking" or something similar, needs to be disabled. Most firewalls have these or similar options, so check the manufacturers website for specific instructions.
2. Check for proxy configurations. Some firewalls such as Norton Internet Security use an invisible proxy to protect your system. Most of these will cause problems. Some firewalls allow the user to disable these features while others dont. Again, if you believe your firewall has such features but you cant turn them off (NIS is the only confirmed case of this so far), restart your system with the application disabled or try uninstalling them.
3. XP firewall. I have had cases of XP's firewall interfering with other firewalls. I.E. Downloads would work with one or the other enabled but not both. Try disabling the XP firewall.
Step Five - Verify your HTTP REFERRER is getting thru
1. Go to http://www.hackerwhacker.com.nyud.net:8090/main.php
2. Click on "Keep hackers out..." Then click the link that says "Click here" next to the computer graphic. On the next page scroll down to the Browser Leakage section and check the HTTP REFERRER...there should be a web address there. If there isnt a web address, then something is blocking the referrer from being sent.
3. Check your firewall settings again.....if you still have problems after verifying your settings, proceed to step six.
Step Six - Try a different browser
Try using a different browser then what you are currently using. FireFox and IE are the most common browsers that users have not had problems with so I suggest trying one or the other.
Step Seven - 3rd Party Apps
Some 3rd party applications can block or interfere with data that is sent from your system. Disable all real-time protection you may be running. This includes anti-spyware and IP blockers like Protowall. DO NOT disable your anti-virus. There have been no reports of AV programs causing any problems, plus it just isnt wise to browse w/o AV protection.
Step Eight - Try using a proxy
Although very rare, in some cases the solution was to use a proxy to access SN.org Consider this step a last resort as usually a proxy will add to your problems rather then cure them."
Hope this helps. I have not tried it yet but feedback would be nice. :)

so i didnt bother with the rest. like ive said b4 ive taken of all anti virus and firewalls and set the referer right the only thing that still works for me is just open in a new window instead of save as.you must have abc for it to work.

Yeah in all honesty it has not worked for me either. It seems some people have better luck then others so I thought I would post it to see if it helps anyone.
Also much of what is said there seems to be based on the fact the torrent file actually downloads or is accessable. I can't even get that far. It just links straight off to the error page.
Any how I have completley given up. And open in new window does not work for me either.

Hello people. I'm sorry to post here with such a straightforward solution, but all you need to do is this:
Once the unauthorised page appears, just click refresh. That's it! You may have to tap it a couple of times until it works, but it WILL work. I presume that it's loading from a different mirror each time, but I could be wrong. The save as box will appear regardless of how your folder options are set. This works in ie6, not sure about the other browsers, but there's no reason it shouldn't work in those too.
Let me know how you get on.
