Can someone confirm if "Resident Evil Apocolypse" is distributed by Columbia Pictures.
I am getting the same error "Inserting Dummy Sectors..." using Decrypter and froze using DVD Shrink for the movie "Little Black Book" also distributed by Columbia Pictures.

Not to familiar with Decrypter, but has anyone tried what bpoelstra suggested? Did it work? And how did you set it up?

YES Resident Evil Apocolypse" is distributed by Columbia Pictures\TRISTAR. Before using DVD Shrink, you must use VobBlanker first, then DVD Shrink and finally CloneDvD2

I followed your steps hsmith007 :using vobblanker, then dvdshrink to decrease the size and finally using clonedvd2 to copy to a blank disk. This process worked very well. As I stated before I'm a nub to all of this, so i really couldn't follow the steps with importing bpoelstra numbers into DVD Decrypter. If some one could take the time to explain that to me for next time, that would be great.
My only problem while viewing is that it back it up in Full Screen. hsmith007 if you could point out where I went wrong that would be great..
Thanks
Shyster

Do a search for both vobblanker and clonedvd2. vobblanker is FREE and clonedvd2 has a 21 day FREE Trial period. After it expires you would have to paid for it in order to continue using dvdclone2.

I was having the same trouble triing to backup RE2. So i'm in the process of using VobBlanker and it's doing it's thing now. Didn't know how to run it but messed with it and hopefully it'll work like i want it to. I'll post back and let everyone know how it came out.

ok, i got the VobBlanker to do what was suggested and used it. Dvd Shrink has it now and i'm ready to back RE2 up.
Get VobBlanker from: www.posunplugged.com/jsoto and click on VobBlanker.exe
Thanks for those who suggested this free app.! Thanks everyone else as well.

I've tried DVD X Copy Xpress but it freezes after 48 seconds. DVD Shrink also froze up on me. What does work is to use VOBBlanker (free) to rip the dvd to your harddrive. Then I used Intervideo DVD Copy 2 to burn it to disc. Works PERFECTLY with menus and bonus features still included. Hope this helps.

Finally, two weeks and 3 exchanges later I finally backed RE Apocalypse and on a DL disk at that. I used VOBBlanker, shrink and Nero. Thanks for the VOBBlanker suggestion hsmith007. Merry Christmas.

Hey Shyster, I did not have any luck with DVDdecrypter ripping RE2. I did it with Vobblanker, then DVD Shrink, and CloneDVD. Some of the other guys use Nero after DVD Shrink. When using CloneDVD, I use the middle icon preserving all the menus including widescreen and full screen choices.
Later dudes

okay, i got it to rip using the permissions sheet, but dvdshrink still won't read it even though it's already on my HD. i'm still getting the read errors like i got when i tried to do a rip off the DVD with shrink. can anyone help me out?
and yes, both little black book and resident evil: apocalypse are distro'd by columbia and feature the same protections, though i haven't found a permissions sheet for little black book yet.
one thing i've noticed about the permissions sheet though is that it must have PSL as line 0, and the file name must be the same as the dvd that you desire to copy (i.e. in RE:A's case DVD_VIDEO.psl)
