I also used this method for mercenaries, and got it to work had a little trouble when the intro video but once I skipped that the game worked fine.

Also have in mine that you files have to be in a certain order, that's why with Nero you first use the image recorder then you can proceed to use your dvd recorder to copy that image, I did mine at 2x.

There is a much simpler way to "fix" you NBA Street v3 backup without having to rebiuld the image. DVDRick has released a patch. Here is the info:

Name: NBA Street: Volume 3 USA (PROTOCOL) SMFIX
Download: NBA_Street_Volume_3_USA_PS2DVD-PROTOCOL-SMFIX_DVDRick.zip
Description: By DVDRick, this fix is for PS2 Swap Magic users... allowing them to load a 1:1 NBA Street: Volume 3 LEGAL game back-up with the Swap Magic Discs.

It can be found via PS2OWNZ.com web site under site utilities. You just copy the file into the iso directory and run. It rebuilds the iso and patches automatically. Soooo simple!

Good Luck!

nolteripp, I'll recommend you just rebuilding the image with iso buster, and then use Nero your iso file should be 2.38 gbs after you extract it.

Is all these extra step necessary, I mean I just use A 120 and just create an ISO with the option "skip read errors" ON. Haven't had any problems playing back any disc yet, including NBA street 3.

I also read alot on here that don't burn at high speeds, I always burn at 8x using a NEC3520a with Verbtaim and Maxell media with no read errors.

J30accord, hats off to you. I wasted 5 DVD's trying these other methods, some didn't work at all, some worked but the game stuttered. Yours worked flawlessly. Thanks!

a few people have mentioned that the music and game kind of stuttered, and the loading time was longer. I have the same problem. I just used Alcohol 120 to burn it the first time, didn't use any patches or anything, and the game stuttered and lagged, second time I used dvddecryptor and the same results, will the patch fix this, any ideas on why it lags like this, all my other backups have problems with sound too so I'm trying to figure out a way to fix this.

I have ridata dvd-r 4x and the thing i did was that i used dvd decryptor to make the image file and then i used dvd decryptor again to burn the file. Never had a problem with it.

Ok...continuing from where J30Accord started...here is what I did to get mine to work without stuttering (all other methods I tried failed, including the DVDRick patch).

1. "Acquire" the image of NBA Street Volume 3.

2.a)Burn the image to a DVD using DVD decrypter (any burning program will probably work).
or
2.b)Mount the image with Daemon tools.

3. Make an iso out of the DVD (or mounted image) you just burned using Alcohol 120. Remember to check off the box that says "Skip Read Errors".

4. Burn the new image with DVD decrypter (any burning program will work at this point)

5. Boot up as you would other backups.

Yo when I use the Rick DVD fix for swap magic users, it says I cant run it cause its a Dos program or something and then it extracts a bunch of files to that folder. Anyone have the same problem or know what to do with them?

ok well i guess there is more than one way to skin a cat....i finally was able to make a good back up copy of nba street 3

heres how i did it

1. used DVD Decrypter to create an image iso file
2. the used isobuster and extracted the files from the image i created to a new folder...files should be about 2.5 gb after this is donw...it was like 4.5 gb prior

3. then i simply used roxio cd/dvd creator and created a data dvd disk picking all the files from the new folder i created and made sure they were in the exact same order

4. used swap magic 3.3 and wa la it worked like a charm

to follow up i used a memorex 8x dvd-r disks and i have a 16x dual layer dvd burner made by iomagic which i got from staples for like 39.00 after rebates .....

this is so damn confusing there are so many ways...its very frustrating but i did get nba street 3 to work fairly simply as i staed in previous post....

thanks guys for all the info
