This has to be like the 4th or 5th thread about "tracking chips" I've seen. I hear that you dont' need a lead room, but if you paint everything in your room with lead-based paint: walls, floor, ceiling, computer case, wires, doors, windows, that it will do the trick and is alot cheaper.

the lead based paint works, but you have to apply it very heavily in several coats. you'll also need a painter qualified and trained to deal with this type of paint. lucky for you I can do it for a nominal charge..... ;)

I get 2 new release every month for free with this card. That is if I don't rent a thing. So if this chip is for real keep on renting people it worked for me.

I did get a good laugh out of the dude that posted that STARBUCKS is placed a chip in there coffee I neer fell off my chair laughing so hard. That for all of you out right hummor.

Do you like your coffee crisp? or chipped?

I'm sorry but I find it EXTREMELY hard to swallow that netflix and blockbuster puts chips in their DVDs. I have many friends that have netflix accounts, and they copy DVDs like its going out of style...no agents knocking on their door. I think the technology for planting chips on DVDs to track them is far more expensive than the net gain would be.

This thread's been hilarious, but, I still can't tell if the CKY_2048 guy was actually serious. I know the chip theory is completely falsified, but does he know it?

let people beleive what they want to beleive, I guess. But there's NO WAY that rumor is true. Seriously...a microship in a DVD? Last time I check there's nothing but pits and grooves in CDs and DVDs, creating 1s and 0s. I'd like to see an optical drive be able to connect to a microchip. I guess some people have to realize not EVERYTHING you read on the internet is true.

Yeah, and I heard that if the Blockbuster is next door to a Vets, that they cant have RFID chips because people keep returning their pets by accident, and taking their rentals for surgery!!

Wonder what happens if you rent an animal film?

Guys this is no laughing matter, yesterday I went into a restaurant and ordered a meal only to discover that there was in fact chips in my fish and chips... needless to say I ate them extra fast to destroy the evidence, the FBI still hasnt caught me...yet.

Well, as they were spinning round my mouth, when they got to a certain speed they starting going down my throat and into my belly, when that was finished, they kept on alerting my arse that I was digesting illegal food, then basically I had to excrete the evidence.

I bought around 100 used DVD's from Blockbuster and made personal backups to use and put the originals in a safe place. Needless to say the FBDVDRI (Federal Bureau of Digital Versatile Disc Reproduction Investigation) raided my Apartment the next day. After spending a year in prison writing confessions and apologies to over 200 different companies, I am now free to warn you about these super micro chips embedded in retail DVD's. THEY EXIST! They are all linked to satellite and can not only inform the authorities of your disc backup habits, but also can scan your body to see if you have been using any illegal substances. Please, do not make backups of discs, regardless of whether you bought them or simply rented them, it is not worth it!

I'm genuinely concerned with all this talk about trace devices. I recently rented the movie "Shall We Dance" from Blockbuster. I didn't copy the disk, but simply watched it on my laptop. I had the lights turned down, and when I ejected the disk, I noticed a very tiny square GLOWING near the hub. The square had a light blue hue to it. Barely noticeable to the untrained eye.

Well, I decided to do some investigation. I placed the disk in my personal electron beam microscope. Bought it off e-bay! With this, I was able to positively identify a trace type device. It was located 200 microns away from the edge of the disk hub. The microchip was made of a see-through polymer material. I made out the word "Ripdefense".

It seems as though movie companies aren't going to need to spend their money on new encryption methods anymore. They won't have to with this thing. They'll just prosecute you for breaking the already in-place encryption. Ripguard.....yeah right!

Anyway, I checked my hard drive for recently modified files. Oddly enough, I located a hidden file called "RDF.log". With a little work, I was able to view the file. Part of the contents were "shall_we_dance - encryption unbroken - report/no".

This is getting weird!

Preliminary findings indicate that a log file is generated on your hard drive. I'm still looking for the executable file that utilizes this log file. If I were to guess, I'd say the idea of the information being sent when you connect to the internet is the most viable explanation. But then again, the executable file may alter the embedded microchip information when Ripguard is broken. I have no way of checking the chip!

The BB chip only activates if you fail to rewind the disc as per the instructions in the DVD case. Most people who copy are in such a hurry they forget this important and crucial step. The rewind deactivates the BB chip and blocks any internet connection to BB.

No you really do have to rewind DVD's. Where have you been? Dang sadsac you getting very close at figuring out how I get rid of those trace chips on peoples computers.. Don't tell to many people about it though as I am trying to make a living out of doing this for people. If I can't get rid of the trace then It cost you nothing I will just dispose of the infected piece of equipment properly so you can never be traced.. ;-)

If you look hard, you may be able to pick up a good used disc rewinder (DR) on EBay that would be able to reverse spin the DVD and deactivate the BB chip. If these chips are further installed on all commericial DVDs you'll probably be able to pick one up at your local Wally World. Right now the demand for these units far exceeds the supply.
