@ haymarket

Ziggy is a beautiful dog for sure, nice coat of fur!

@ darthnip

Go with what your belly tells ya, the Akita is a nice dog.

I have two doggys, a New Zealand Border Collie, and a Mexican Chi-wa-wa (hope I spelled that right!)

Both are very good animals, it's all up to the trainer as to how they turn out.

I would have three dogs, but wife won't let me. Had to pass a chance on a beautiful black lab. One day I'll own one, I hope!

I know i said i wanted a puppy, and i know i said i wanted a purebred Akita, but today I took the kids to a carnival where they had animals up for adoption and we fell in love with an Akita/ black lab mix named Cooper. Keep your fingers crossed, the adoption process needs to be reviewed by the shelter before they will let anyone adopt their dogs (which is a good practice in my opinion).
here is a pic of cooper

Cooper looks like a definite keeper there Darth :)

I've always loved short haired terriers of all sorts especially Jack Russell Terriers. Russells are smart as a whip, extremely athletic and have a seemingly infinite amount of energy. Great companion dogs they are - not too big, not too small.

well i gotta admit i fell for the dog before the kids saw him, but they were soon to follow once they saw him (of course being 5 year olds they fall for anything with 4 legs and a tail).

Just be thankful they didn't see a crocodile first then.

Cooper looks exactly like my Jack Russell (Bruno) only bigger.

He loves to fight with me. I lost todays fight and I've got blood running down my arm from a 3 inch scratch and more blood trickling down my lip cos he bit me.

Thought I had him beat cos I had hold of all his paws. Forgot about his teeth.

Had a row off the wife cos HE bit Me..!!!

Quote from wife "You must have upset him for him to bite you like that. Don't be so rough with him."

Grrrr.....

Fingers crossed for you, but I am sure that the Rescue people will see that the Darthnip family will be a great home for Cooper. :-)
